Hotel Majestic Barranquilla

The negative thing about the hotel and that was, that you were a sit allowed to have no more than one guest in the room and if you were to have someone stayed over with you the hotel would charge you extra even if the person was family... it was a bit aggravating that you couldn’t have your own relative come to visit you, it was very displeasing, the only way way was for them to sit in the lobby to see you, in other word you couldn’t have a private conversataiaon with anyone cause you couldn’t take them to the room.... considering that the rooms had a table with chairs... and to top it off there was a si hole person in the front seat that was very passive aggressive and every single time he had the chance to make things difficult he would, for example my nephew and his sister were not allowed to be in the unit one of them had to stayed outside and how ever knows barranquilla anything could happen to them Been outside... aside from this the rest of the staff were very friendly, polite and very helpful specially the lady Sugeily if not mistaken and the cleaning lady as well and the two gentlemen that work the door and the restaurant very nice people... considering Of all of those things I would still go back to the hotel cause it feels very comfortable...

Well maintained, good ubicación. What I recommend is to fumigate the place for bed bugs other then that. Love it

The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Nice to meet people like that! The restaurant room is amazing and the food is very nice. The rooms are a little tired, but are clean and spacious. The pool area is a nice place to relax, and food can be ordered there. Plenty of local buses pass the hotel, so it is easy to visit the centre, but 2 blocks away there is a huge shopping centre “Prado”, which contains many, many shops and an extremely large eating area. The hotel is recommended for its friendliness.

Such an old fashion and uncomfortable place, no elevator, very old facilities

The hotel staff was really friendly, especially the lady at the reception, the guy at breakfast room and the tall young man in the lobby (sorry I can’t remember their names wasn’t there most of the time). The reception man during the night shift was very serious and not too welcoming. It was a bit awkward the night we arrived and the morning when we left. The hotel structure was truly beautiful but the hotel needs maintenance. The rooms are big and so was the bed. This area can use a facelift as well. The air conditioner only has one speed. We only had breakfast at the hotel 3 days out of the six we were there but two days it was buffet style and one day we were offered options. Not sure why, but we liked it better when we were given options as the other way was always the same, scramble eggs, bread, fruit and juice. We had dinner one night and the food was good. The location was safe and there was a mall about two blocks away if you need to get munchies. Unfortunately, one of the days we were there we didn’t have electricity or water for a couple of hours. I do think this was for the whole neighborhood. Overall, we would use it again.

The building is considered a landmark and so it cannot be modified. But it is run down, old appliances, outdated equipment. The walls are broken, like the dry wall has holes that have not been repaired for years. The top of the art work and layout of hotel is very dusty. Our bathroom sink, didn’t leak but rather just ran the water used down to you feet. The phone in the room was never fixed even after asking. The furniture seems to be over 20 years old. I stay at luxurious hotels and some casual ones. Over all I look for cleanliness and in good standing order. That is far from the case in this hotel.

It was a short stay and it was comfortable for one night. Staff was very amicable. Would recommend for a short stay.

When I walked in, I was blown away at how nice the hotel was. It has an old charm with newer appliances. The staff was very kind, considering I don't speak much Spanish, and was very patient with me. One thing to note is they do not have an elevator but they have someone to carry your bag up the stairs for you. My favorite part, aside from the pool, was the restaurant. It is so elegant I felt like I was transported back in time. A plus, the prices were extremely cheap for everything! I had wine, an entree and desert for about 35,000 Columbian pesos which is about $12 us dollars. The hotel is also close to the shopping mall which is nice.

I have been visiting Barranquilla for 15 years. Hotel Majestic is a good value for the money.

Great location and neighborhood and good value for the price. Staff was always very helpful even with english being their second language and room was clean. Only issue is that you can hear all noise outside as room windows do not close properly.

Old and need bathroom upgrade , power keep going on and off

The shared areas were great. It was very hot in our room. The AC unit did very little, even when left on all day. Service was great though.
