Holiday Inn BIRMINGHAM NORTH - CANNOCK, an IHG Hotel

The refurb of my bedroom looked as if it was done by someone who was first day on the job! The painting and silicone work were very sloppy. The carpet had bare patches throughout and looked as though it had been burned? The door does not have a deadbolt, only a chain lock.

It was like staying in the Ritz only somewhere near Wolverhampton.

No heating and it was freezing. No quick resolution and saw 2 mice outside hotel entrance. Hotel was nice other than that.

Warm, friendly staff, nice room.

A little dated

Our overnight stay was fine, the room was clean and comfortable, and the meal in the restaurant was good.

Doesn’t deserve the extreme bad reviews. Undoubtedly needs an upgrade/modernisation in terms of decoration, however the rooms are clean, well-equipped and big; the beds are comfortable; and the staff are friendly. Definitely does the job if you want a cheap-ish one-night stay.

Very clean and spacious.

Hotel is looking very run down. Burn marks on the stairs at the 9th floor. Fire alarm went off at 08:15 on check out day and didn’t seem particularly well organised response.

Excellent value for money stay. Emily on reception and in the bar/restaurant were very helpful and friendly and were instrumental in us booking to stay again when next in Cannock for business. Good size rooms including air conditioning and a fridge Nice large towels and clean room. Easy free parking as well. Recommended.

A/C didn’t work, Shower didn’t work.

No ventilation, dusty room, air con non existent, room stank.

The room, 504, was in need updating. The mattress was sunken and uncomfortable. The hand basin is unstable, Room was not very clean with dust everywhere. In need of total redecoration.

Pool Hardware maintenance Showers, mini fridge and air conditioning are all not working. Those are know issues for months but mentioned to the clients during booking. Dishonest.

Was quite concerned after i had booked, i heard horror stories, that the hotel was dirty, etc. Well that was completely wrong, rooms were good clean comfortable. What more could you ask for.

Hotel was easy to find and parking on site, nice bar area downstairs. The room was on the 2nd floor and it was very warm as soon as you came out the lift you could feel it. The air con in the room did not work but we didn't complain as we were there for 1 night and not spending too much time in the room. It was very warm though and in honesty we got ready and got out as soon as we could. The bed is not particularly comfortable, very soft and feels cheap. Only one pillow per person provided and it was paper thin so not great. I personally would not stay here again.

Air conditioning didn’t work properly. Alternative provided was a small oscillating fan. Problem with door to the room locking properly. Had to try numerous times to make sure deadbolt was secure. Aside from this, the location was convenient for our time in the area.
