Holiday Inn NEWCASTLE - JESMOND, an IHG Hotel

Nice, within walking distance of St Jame's Park (Half an hour), ideal location for football matches. Metro station links to the Airport and the rest of Newcastle.

Well located hotel very close to Tyneside Metro and easy walk into City Centre Plenty of parking, including EV charging. Had room on the back which was quiet and had everything for our needs. All the staff we spoke to were lovely. We thought the price was very reasonable.

The only bad thing about the stay was the bathroom had not been cleaned. There was feaces in the toilet, green and yellow liquid on the shower curtain and the bathroom sink’s plug was broken on arrival as it was pushed down and when trying to open up the plug it would not so the sink was full of water when used. Staff were extremely friendly and polite

We often use this hotel as it’s convenient for visiting family, and usually clean and comfortable. We had a few issues this time - we were locked out of the hotel the first night (it was only 9pm so not late) as no one answered the bell from the car park despite us ringing several times. The TV in our room was broken though the staff very quickly offered to change our room - when we declined, they refunded us the car park charges instead which was a nice gesture. Our bed was comfortable but there were hair grips on the floor from a previous occupant and the bathroom has certainly seen better days. The grouting is filthy, the shower curtain doesn’t fit and there are missing tiles from the side of the bath. This hotel renovated their public areas a few years ago and I think it’s time now for them to spend money bringing the rooms back up to scratch. The staff were lovely, as always.

Overall good. Slight issues with heating, but manageable.

I stay here a lot and the staff are always friendly and efficient so that’s the good part. However, the rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking a major road are far too noisy with the existing glazing. I wore earplugs and could still clearly hear the traffic throughout most of the night, keeping me awake for all but three hours. Not acceptable if you’re looking for a good nights sleep. Buyer beware.

First the parking area are not properly instructed. There are no signs etc. checking in was quite a pain as well. At first the lady in the reception couldn’t find our reservation and that need to call her colleague to help her. The room assigned to us are located at the very end corridor and we got lost at first as we need a lift to get there and it was like a maze run puzzle to find it. The Bed was the most uncomfortable bed we’ve ever had. It’s sinking and the pillow was horrible too. We always stay in IHG property and this one so far are the worst. The breakfast selection are so poor and cold.

This hotel was finenfor an overnight business trip. Breakfast was decent, the room.was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Family visit

We booked for 1 night for a family wedding, ideal location and great price.

Staff were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. Standard King bed was enormous but room was pokey and a bit shabby.

From arrival to check-out, a great experience. Room was very spacious and bed really comfortable with a choice of pillows. Staff were efficient and very friendly, both reception and bar.

The Holiday Inn staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for me: three stops on the Metro and centrally located between my work at Newcastle Uni and friends in Wallsend. Very close to wonderful dining at Sandyford including Aidan's Kitchen. Property is fairly worn and little things in the room were annoying such as a drain plug not functioning, bathroom door wouldn't stay open when i wished, too little water pressure in the shower and too much pressure in the sink. The room was fine, not great, and given location and staff I would stay again.

The hotel is well located with parking for the city, short metro journey or cab ride also a lot of local bars and restaurants in jesmond close by. The hotel is well appointed with an italian style and and american style restaurant. There is a coffee bar serving starbucks in the reception. We didnt have breakfast as there a number of places nearby but it seemed busy whilst we were there. The rooms are simple but well appointed, staff are very helpful and friendly. For the price point this is an all round good place to stay for a weekend in Jesmond

The location is good. Hotel reception and dining room is very modern. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Hotel Room needs updating especially the bathroom. Found a jumper under a chair which meant the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Staff very friendly. Car parking is limited.

Really friendly staff on the reception, very helpful as we were visiting university she was really helpful.

The stay was very comfortable and all the staff very friendly Breakfast was excellent and the chef at Breakfast in the mornings (Mark) kept an eye on how and when food was required. ( a real character who made you feel welcome)
