Only issue was effectiveness of AC and food options in hotel Otherwise location is perfect

My husband, three year old daughter and I stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 nights. The staff and service, the property, the room and food were incredible. When I was originally booking our lodging for this trip, I was deciding between this hotel and another. I told my husband multiple times during our stay that I was SO glad we chose Hotel sporting. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and great shower pressure. There were so many beautiful views around the property. The included breakfast was wonderful-I looked forward to it every morning. The surrounding marina had great options for dining each night as well! We were all very sad to leave!

A good team of hard working ladies kept the place clean. Beach however had a rather coarse sand pebbles and rocks mixed with vegetal debris in parts of it. Water was far from a blue flag since hundreds of boats, some of them absurdly huge, steamed in and out eventually anchoring in front of the hotel to entertain clients. 2 nights we had probably drunken yachtpeople karaoke until 1am as they were anchored near us. The place is pricey and probably posh. I am not sure. There were two pools. One they keep cleaning but nobody used and the other not serviced but people wanted to use… Communication with people was often difficult despite goodwill ( mine and usually theirs). I paid a higher tariff for the option “pay at the property” I paid a big upfront, 4 days accommodation value just after entering the hotel and the rest by transfer. For few minutes the reception guy wanted to keep me in the reception until he receives bank confirmation. Eventually he allowed me to go to room, take shower and cover the rest of the stay by bank transfer. It was a bad start. I asked for a proforma. Impossible… for obscure reasons. Massimo was the nice waiter. Most of them were like that but two grumpy guys were in the team too. In my humble opinion Spa, Coffee machine, gym are required for 5 stars. Most of these were not there or I was not made aware that thy really exist and work. The restaurant building is beautiful in an original rustic style. The food choice is rather narrow.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Sporting while our yacht was anchored in the Port, the hotel is in a lovely position with great views out to the sea. The feature that was most pleasant was the attitude of the staff who were all very attentive, particularly Ivo and Roberto in the restaurants who looked after our every need, so well done to them. The food and cocktails were very good, the rooms are typically Sardinian style and were particularly clean. The only improvement could be some nice sunbed cushions rather than the basic mesh beds you find in cheaper hotels around Italy. All in all though a very enjoyable stay!

Amazing & fantastic

Amazing location and awesome property directly on the beach. Vintage style with loads of charm and class. Friendly staff, excellent restaurant service and gorgeous food. Check in process took too long and should be improved.

Very nice place to be good service good food . (Breakfast could be a bit better with more choice ) but really great food . Very clean can t wait to go back again and see the new spa !

Position by sea and marina was fantastic . Lots of different areas in sun and shade to sit .

I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The room was great with a view of the marina, and the hotel itself had great views out onto the sea.

nice hotel but quite basic for 5* We didn't even have a kettle in our room.

Beautiful beaches and cove on one side, the shops and cafes of Porto Rotunda on the other, and this perfect hotel in between. Our best holiday ever. Try it for yourself!

TV did not work, shower was not spraying properly. Breakfast was dissapointing

Cozy hotel , close if you rent a car to all the near by high end destinations , I would rate their cuisine as a highly recommended one by the way , friendly staff

we had a very enjoyable experience, we needed to hire a car which enabled us to see more, otherwise not a lot going on around the hotel, the drinks left int he room were rather expensive, water as a complimentary drink at least would have been very nice

This is more Malibu 5 star than Dubai, so expect a relaxed, nothing too much trouble standard of service, rather than flash. Most rooms are single storey and open out onto the beach, and I mean you open your door and you are on the beach. Highly recommend

We had a lovely stay at hotel Sporting. Staff were very friendly. It was the ned of the season so the resort was very quiet and the weather quite changeable but the area was great for exploring private little beaches, coves and villages

Nice hotel near port town and next to beach. Fix price food menu good but wine list options very expensive and limited.

Terrible hotel restaurant and manager, nice staff otherwise. Beachside on a narrow slip of land between sea and port. There is no fine sand. Expect hilly beach, coarse sand, pebbles, and rocks. Pool if you prefer. Once in, the water is beautiful. This hotel is rated 5, but is really a 4 star at most.

One of the most exceptional Hotel experiences.This is a beautiful hotel in an equally beautiful location. The staff are professional, welcoming, and are an important part of making this hotel experience so special. I cannot fault Hotel Sporting, we had a beautiful suite right on the beach. The interiors both in the suite and within the hotel are chic and elegant. You can enjoy the delights of the cuisine offered at the hotel or choose to wander the outstanding Marina with its offering of fabulous waterfront restaurants , bars, cafes and glamorous boutiques. We were disappointed not to have secured accommodation in Porto Cervo, however we were happy to visit and return to Porto Rotondo, which felt to be the superior location. Hotel Sporting is the template for superior Five Star Hotels. If you wish to be spoilt whilst soaking in all that is the beauty of Sardegna, without question this is the Hotel. Hotel Sporting is a standout, highly recommended, we look forward to returning. Thank you.
