Hotel service was very attentive and I loved the hotel room details.

The hotel was very cool and I really enjoyed the decor and amenities. The breakfast was fabulous. I especially enjoyed hot springs at the hotel.

Friendly staff & Very relaxing atmosphere

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora. The staff were very attentive, professional, and friendly. We did not have any issues at all. We loved our room and how spacious, clean, and nice it looked, and enjoyed the in-room hot spring bath. The dinner service was excellent as well. I will recommend this hotel to family and friends and will come back if we go to Hakone again in the future.

This hotel is amazing. We have 3 people staying and all the staff are very friendly. Transportation is not an issue at all. The hotel provides free shuttle service (scheduled) in between odawara station and also free pick up/ drop off service (no reservation needed) to Gora station. The private onsen is awesome, just a little disappointment is we are facing the river which they are having big construction during the day time. You will hear the noise if you are in your room during day time.

A fantastic place to stay in Hakone. From the staff to the amazing food and the private onsen it is well worth it!

During our 10-day trip to Japan, we had high expectations for Hotel Indigo Hakone as it was our special splurge hotel booking. We invested a significant portion of our accommodation budget here, reserving a spacious room with a private onsen for one night. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. The major issue was the ongoing construction work at the river/dam directly in front of our room. The heavy machinery not only produced sewage-like odors that made it impossible to enjoy our balcony and private onsen but also started operations before 8 AM, which was particularly disruptive given our jet lag. The dinner experience was equally disappointing. Despite making a 9 PM reservation (with the kitchen closing at 9:30 PM) and ordering immediately upon being seated, most dishes were served cold and bland. While the meat dish was delicious, other items like the dry burrata, cold vegetables, bland mashed potatoes, and watery creamy spinach were subpar. To make matters worse, the staff rushed us through our meal in an notably impolite manner. We also received misleading information about the ropeway. When we inquired about recommendations, we were told it was closed for the day due to wind conditions. We later discovered it only closes temporarily during high winds, not for entire days, causing us to miss this opportunity entirely. On a positive note, the hotel's decor and amenities are nice, but this doesn't compensate for the numerous issues we experienced.

The rooms were spacious!

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora, and it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a serene escape. The rooms are clean, spacious, and come with a private onsen, which was a highlight of the experience. Soaking in the onsen while enjoying the mountain views was incredibly relaxing. One thing to note is that clearer instructions for taking the shuttle bus would be helpful. For future guests: once you arrive at Odawara Station, exit from the West Gate. Outside, look for the samurai statue, cross the terminal for taxis and buses, and wait near the statue. The shuttle bus will have the hotel’s name displayed, so it’s easy to spot once you know where to be. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. Their shuttle service to Gora Station is also convenient for exploring the area. Most of the staff spoke English well, which made communication easy, and they were polite and professional throughout our stay. There’s a 7-11 nearby for any essentials, and I highly recommend checking out TABIYA'S, a pizza place just a 5-minute walk away. Overall, Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora is a great place to unwind with a blend of luxury and convenience. Highly recommend it for those looking to explore Hakone or simply enjoy a peaceful retreat.

Buyer beware: this hotel advertised a Mountain View, which is actually a view of the parking lot. That got me off on the wrong foot with this property. There were some wonderful things to recommend it, such as a free shuttle to take guests to the nearby Gora station. The “onsen” is not an onsen. It is a coed set of pools to sit in. There is nothing of the onsen experience here, and that is another false advertising issue with this property. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were generally very kind and helpful. The rooms are a problem because there is tremendous noise in the hallways from other guests, and the rooms don’t have adequate soundproofing. For a five-star hotel, I was surprised by the quality. I would rank this as a 3+ and suggest that the hotel change its descriptions on its advertising materials.

It was amazing. We will definitely return! Staff helped us in so many ways. Rooms were beautiful with private onsen and dinner was fabulous!

It was nice

The room was a bit dirty. When we checked into our room, we discovered the toilet seat had an existing pee spot. We had to wipe it. The shower glass door had water stains which tells me that it hasn’t cleaned for awhile. The shower tiles had mold. So cleanliness wasn’t up to par. The property is welcoming and beautiful though. It has a variety of food for the breakfast selection.

Room and other areas of the property were very clean. Staff were exceptional.

Nice room with onsen however the view isn’t the best. It looks out at the town. Food was good. Overall a good place as a base for exploring Hakone.
