This is a tricky review to write, because we did enjoy the endearing hosts at the hotel and the quirky decor, happy hour, snacks and fridge in the room, and perfect location of the property. However, we have stayed in many 5-star hotels and this is one of the most expensive. At these prices, one expects amenities above and beyond. For example, there were no bathrobes or luxury amenties in the room, no turn-down services, makeup mirror, no concierge to help with bookings and local advice, etc. Many of the things you come to expect at this price point were simply lacking. We did have a lovely stay nonetheless--just be prepared for the price and enjoy.

I was at The Dairy twice. 3 nights before my Routeburn Track and 2 nights after. It's one of the loveliest places I have stayed at. Excellent staff, comfortable bed, 24 hour access to tea, coffee and snacks, as part of stay. A happy hour between 5 and 6 p.m. and decor that is subtle, yet warm. A 2 minute walk down to the heart of Queenstown. - super convenient to everything. I highly recommend The Dairy.

Super comfortable, nicely decorated room. Great location, really central but also peaceful. Beautiful views. Staff were amazing, helpful, and went the extra mile. Loads of special touches like the happy hour, pick and mix etc that make you feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend.

I travel a lot and honestly one of the nicest places I have stayed. it's quirky, different but in the best way.
Excellent service, you feel very special and very spoilt.
I am definitely heading back there in winter. Hotel has amazing fireplace and can't wait to chill, read a book with a glass of wine.
Oh and FYI, first review ever, thats how much I loved this place.

This hotel is not cheap, the location is great. Cleanliness is good, but unfortunately because it’s an old building, the walls are thin, and the people in the adjoining room felt the need to play the television full volume in the middle of the night and when I texted the on-call manager, nobody responded.

Cosy clean boutique hotel with friendly staff.
Comfortable room with amenities you’d expect.
Excellent location, just 3 minute walk from the main centre and main pick up points for most tours & ski trips.
Happy hour in the evening with bar snacks, wine and beer.
