We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary, and the overall experience was amazing. We love how the hotel was built along the main road, and can be easily located. The hotel is right in front of a mall and is nearby to almost everything. As soon as you get right off the bus, there you will find the hotel welcoming you right across the road if you are going the way to the Sky Ranch. To reach the hotel, you have to take the foot bridge to get to the other side of the road. The hotel's classy exterior is appealing with its wooden façade that brings you the feel of nature. As you enter the hotel, you will be greeted by their friendly and courteous staff, and a very cute and sweet dog named 'Blue', which by the way tells us that the place is a pet friendly hotel. The hotel interior is one of coolest thing on earth. Most of which our DIYs (Do-It-Yourself) - from the front desk to tables, to chairs, to their decorations. There is a Christmas tree built on books and papers, hanging decorations made out of popsicle sticks, and more. To right from the lobby is a showcase of some organic products that are sold at very reasonable prices on a 'BYOB' (Bring Your Own Bottle) theme. There is a game area with free use of board games (e.g. sungka, scrabble, wooden blocks stacking, etc) -- And yes, we love the sungka game! It brought us back to our younger days. There is also a water dispenser on each floor The 3-level hotel has inviting common areas for places to hangout with friends and families. There is the hotel lobby/rooms on first, more rooms on second, and a Mexican inspired resto bar on third/roof deck, which has a spectacular view of the Taal lake from mid-morning until afternoon. We arrived at the hotel passed their check-in time of 2PM. The check-in process was as smooth as silk. We were asked for a security deposit, filled out some forms, handed us the key to our room door, and off we go. We booked a Garden View room, which they had on the ground floor and to our surprise, we have been assigned a room facing the front desk. At first it was awkward to have been in a room that can be very welcoming to other guests for a free view of what's inside our room. Although our privacy can be compromised, we did not bother to request for another room as eventually, we just got used to it. We have not had any issues except for our room's door that does not come with a double lock system. (If you are not that vigilant, you may have lost something inside your room as the door knob pretends that it is locked but if you try to check it from the outside, you will see that it is still open, unless you pull the door really hard when you close it.) We got welcome drinks each night of our stay (served from 5PM-7PM) and free breakfast every morning (served from 7AM-10AM). The breakfast comes with either a hot coffee, hot chocolate, or brewed iced tea of your choice - mind you, these are all refillable! Downside was that the resto bar that does not open until 5PM so you will be left with no choice but to go out and look for an alternative restaurant to feed your hungry tummy. The Garden View room was really not we were expecting it to be. The room is quite small with a decent sized bed for two, a lavatory with a big mirror, and a toilet and bath. The room comes with a small DIY wooden table and low stool chair, a split type air conditioning unit, classy ceiling fan, and a wall mounted flat screen television, with cable channels that rarely has a signal. Thankful that the wifi signal was in good shape during our stay. Everything in there is made out of wood and recycled materials which are very impressive, only that the wood interior brings a soury smell inside the room but can be tolerable. The noise from the outside can also be heard inside the room. May be a need for an acoustical treatment is necessary for each room as passing vehicles and guests staying in the common areas can easily be heard. If you are to visit the mall from the hotel, you must take about a 5-min walk to get to the foot bridge, which could be difficult to those who are carrying heavy loads or not that fit enough for strenuous activities. This idea however brings safety to commuters especially that the road is open to all types of vehicles - trucks, buses, cars, etc. If only the foot bridge was stood near the hotel, we could have always gone out and taken a cool walk at night. The idea of climbing up and down the foot bridge made us to stay more often in our room. Another cool thing about this place is having their female resident dog 'Blue', who we fell in love with since day one. She is so cute and lovable. We even bought her a pack of dog food, which she really enjoyed. Every night before we go to sleep, she always make sure to drop by our room and say her good night. In the morning, she always hangs out with us on the roof deck when we are having our breakfast. Aside from the hotel's uniqueness and beauty, another reason for us to go back is to see this adorable creature that we terribly miss. This hotel is a sure 'go back place'.
