Great location only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral, Mercado dos Lavradores, the seafront and other central locations. Also less than 5 minutes from an Aerobus bus stop in both directions. Current bus price in March 2025 is €6.40. Rooms are ok, mine had 3 single beds and a balcony but no aircon so not sure how hot the rooms would be in high summer. It was fine for me. Not sure if that applies to all the rooms. There is a large terrace on the first floor which gets sun all morning. Breakfast is self service with just a light buffet. Downside is that the WiFi is only available on the first floor. Also no on site parking if you have a hire car. Staff were friendly.

Interesting hotel, definitely not a really fancy place, but it has it's charm. The design reminds of 70's, I really enjoyed this, because hotels usually are really similar. The room was nice and clean, the private bathroom was okay- hot water and some soap. Hair dryer looked weird, but I didn't try it, probabbly worked fine. Continental breakfast was good, not really variable, but tasty and coffee was good. Of corse a bit loud in the night, because it is in the centre of Funchal. To summarize- everything was good and I would recommend this place.

The residecial greco hotel was nothing that we expected. The pictures were not matching the real situation. The carpets were so dirty and stained that we didn’t even wanna take our shoes off. The shower was rusty and water did not go down. All the towels had stains and even though they changed them they still were gross and not clean so we don’t believe they have any clean towels. We had ants in our bed. Our doorknob was loose and broken and the door had a crack in it like someone tried to enter the room with violence. And when we tried to get another room and talked with the people at the reception he did not care and was dismissive. The balcony door did not lock. Their were not following food safety regulations and the breakfast was staying there way too long under no cover and without anything to keep for example the cheese cold and fresh. Everything looked gross. The plates and glasses were dirty too. The coffee container made the coffee taste like dirt. All of this was against the clean and safe standards the hotel was supposed to have.

Well this is not so good. But you get a place to stay at a cheap price. The rooms and the rest of the hotel is very old and warn. The cleaning is not the best. Breakfast is very simple. The bread was actually molded. There are bugs everywhere! Conclusion: you will survive, but you can instead try a better place.

Very nice. Big and clean room with daily service. Breakfast pretty poor, limited, but still fresh. Coffee could be better. However it's complimentary and you can go to market, it's a variety of fruits, vegetables, many bars, restaurants, super markets around. Even though it's in the centre, if you book a double room with balcony, you will face the back of the building, and it's quiet. The location it's very well located to walk around. The furniture it's old, there is no air conditioning, but the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. I would strongly recommend the hotel, as it's good for the money paid. The staff is very helpful and polite.
