I am a frequent business traveler to Taipei and here are my honest thoughts after staying at least 30+ different hotels in Taipei. 1) Staff is excellent - everyone of them! They are very polite, professional and helpful. I think they know the issues with the hotel and tries the best to offset that with kindness and I do appreciate that. The staff is the star here - no doubt about it. 2) This hotel's physical condition and hard products are not top notch. I was given a room initially that had a musky smell. I raised the concern and due to my long stay, they swapped me to a different room and it was much better. 3) There is a free Nescafe hot beverage station, frig full of chilled drinks and water, and baskets of snacks available for guests to enjoy. It's a great perk to have - I liked it more than I thought I would. 4) Public area, room and furnishing are dated but they do try to keep is as clean as possible. However, the limited wall power outlet is concerning for a business traveler like myself. The entire room has only 2 outlets for guest use and they are in the oddest location. I had to bring 2 extension cords from my office to keep my electronic devices running. 5) In room coffee/tea packs and water are replenished every day. The shampoo are body wash are really good - one of the best in Taipei. They have refreshing tea smell and moisturizing as well. Heck, event the soap is really good... Overall, good value for money if you can deal with some weaknesses

Excellent hotel for the price

Building a a little old but very clean and neat. Staffs were super friendly. Daily breakfast provided free are good and convenient for me before I headed out every morning. Coffee, hot water and water available are available at no charge too. I m a side sleeper. The only thing I wish was for a softer top beds. Very close to MRT, like one block away for me and bus stops are available. Taxi to the Bullet train station cost about $80 NTD. Front desk may order taxi for you if you request about 15 mins ahead.

Deco and furnishing seems old. Found a small cockroach in the bath room. Hotel location is good.. near night market, marts and Songshan train stations

Most of the sraffs were friendly except for one lady who brought room for missing shampoo and liquid soap. Carpet on the corridor looks old and producing unhealthy mold, or fungus smell bad which was not exciting. Bedding, water pressure were excellent that made me good n8ght sleep and location of the business is so good within foot distance to MRT subway station.

Most of the things are good. Very close to Raohe Street night market. The front desk guys are very nice and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. The only thing not satisfactory is the breakfast. Instead of buffet breakfast, the hotel provided boxed food which is hard to eat.

Not sure what it was in my bed to make me itchy. But overall the hotel is good at location, staff friendliness and free parking. Overall this is a good and spacious hotel.

Charming City Sungshan Hotel is in a great location, Taipei MRT, Raohe Night Market, Songshan Train Station are all within 5 mins walking distance. The room is clean and quiet, breakfast is OK, lobby is small, no gym. It's a good choice for the price we paid.

The location is excellent, the room however hadn't been cleaned as there was still hair from the previous guest and dirt left on the floor. The views are nice but I wouldnt recommend staying here unless you absolutely have to.

The hotel is just average but very conveniently located near the Songshan MRT station and, Songshan and Raohe Night Markets.

Stayed at twin beds room. Big & clean room. Nice view of Taipei 101. Near to MRT Station & Roahe night market. Thank you.

Convenient location to walk to Wufenpu or Raohe Night Market. Easily accessible to the train station. Hotel bed is not very comfortable. Friendly staff and relatively quiet location.

Seemed more like a love motel.

Business trip to nearby Neihu, morning taxi to Neihu is within 13 minutes by taxi. one of the decent hotels around this area.

location is not good, staff is good , breakfast is good

We only stayed for 1 night, the room was a little cramped, and quite a bit out-dated. It was good for one night, and a place to sleep. The service from staff were good. Other than that, it was quite average.

while I stayed at this hotel, the front desk was not very helpful, thank god, I can speak the language, otherwise, I will be in big trouble.

Staffs are very friendly n helpful. Rooms are big n comfortable. Location is just beside night market but far enough to not be affected by the sound n crowd. 10 mins walk to the nearest mrt station. Only drawback is, it is located at the last station of the mrt line n quite a few stops away from the central area
