Such a fun retro vibe. Room was very clean and comfy. Beautiful grounds. Valet parking in price is amazing. Fabulous iconic diner attached is great food, drinks. Friendly staff. Elevator still broken and construction ongoing all around hotel - but neither were bud deal for me. Definitely will stay again when in that area.

Staff is so friendly and accommodating! I stayed for 2 weeks following a surgery down the street at Cedars Sinai Hospital. The vibe is great. Super cheery and fun! Definitely recommend and will stay here again!

We traveled from South Dakota to LA for a quick birthday trip. We had never been there before. The staff was so helpful and friendly, especially the young man from Turkey! The rooms were impeccable. I am very particular about cleanliness and this exceeded my expectations. We will stay here again.

The elevator is not working. We were on 2nd floor with a small kid. The room was spacious but you can hear people talking in the room next door and people walking on the corridors.

Noticed worn out carpets, damaged wall art. These are the least expensive items to replace in a Hotel and it would make it a better place to stay. Staff was very nice and helpful.

On the past I liked this hotel, NOT anymore! Elevator down for “upgrade” the whole stay. Had to carry luggage up 3 flights. It was down last Christmas too. In the past could park your car yourself. Now must use the valet service to get safe parking. And they charge for the service even if you don’t use it.

I missed the 2-star reviews and understand why only 2. I drove up at night, and it looked like a dive hotel in a sketchy neighborhood. I understand why there is free valet parking. Except for about 5 open garages in the back , it is a dark littered alley where I wouldn't think of parking. I drove off without entering the hotel and ate the $300 I paid.

The desk staff was very friendly and eager to help. But you need to know some things before you book. The blocks on both sides of the hotel are major construction sites, and that's not going to be finished anytime soon. The noise starts at about 6:30 am. Idle construction workers block the sidewalks and take up all available street parking (no wonder the projects take so long). They aren't particularly inclined to move out of the way for people carrying suitcases. They just kind of glare at you like you are in their territory. Streets are in horrible shape because of construction. Also, when I arrived, I was assigned a third floor room and informed that the elevator is "being upgraded," which meant it doesn't work. So be prepared to lug your stuff up six flights of stairs (the facility has split floors) if you are assigned a room at the top. The carpets really made me happy I brought slippers, but I think the sound would carry if the place wasn't carpeted. I heard people in the next room (through a locked suite door) as clearly as if they were in my room. Finally, for all this, after I booked online and pre-paid, I got hit with an additional daily $35 "conveniences" charge. That seems pretty deceptive to me, either on the part of the hotel or Hotels.com, not sure which. The upside, the location is convenient for a lot of LA and Swingers restaurant -- a hipster hotspot since 1993 -- is open until 3 am, and the food is decent with vegetarian and vegan options.

Elevator was broken. TV did not work at first, but we were able to troubleshoot. Overall pretty cute place, but missed the mark on the details. Best thing about it was the convenient location - pretty much a 5 min. uber or 15 min. walk from anything we wanted to do.

This isn’t really a hotel. It’s a “motel” masquerading as a hotel. The staff are nice, but that doesn’t make up for all the problems. The elevator was out of service the entire time I was there. Had to take the stairs every time. Room wasn’t cleaned once, but we were encouraged to ask the front desk for towels. Major construction going on directly adjacent to the hotel on two different sides. It’s like being in a construction site. I had to move rooms because of the endless construction right outside. Awful!

the hotel was nice and staff were good but they charged me not a small amount of money extra for "hotel charge" which i didn't see it when i booked using expedia, but the hotel staff said its there with fine print on the offer which is not nice or fair from Expedia to do if that is correct because we compare hotels with the cost shown as usual .. I would like from Expedia to explain that to me or i will not use them as usual again

On the plus side, the hotel was in a convenient location for me. I was there working long days on a project so amenities mattered little. It was clean, and the on-site parking was included in the price. However, the elevator was out of service, making the trek from the garage to the 2nd floor with luggage tiresome. There is no maid service...but the price reflects that.
