Expedition Lodge was a pleasant surprise. I booked it because I needed a super cheap and quick option for the night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was tidy and clean. There were fun touches with decorations. You could tell they did a lot with a little. The facility itself is aging, though the rooms were well kept. Good value for the price, and absolutely killer views. (Though that's the case everywhere in Estes Park ;-))

Great stay. The only thing we weren’t a huge fan of is the pool being advertised as a heated pool and it was said to be kept warm but the water was lukewarm . The window in the pool area was left open by staff both times we attempted to swim so the room for the pool was very cold as snow would blow in when the wind blew and the temperatures were freezing outside leaving the room for the pool very cold. Not comfortable for the kids or adults to enjoy the pool comfortably. This was the primary attraction my kids were looking forward to, but the water was far cooler than a normal heated pool and the room for the pool being kept very cold from the outside weather being let it, only allowing the kids 5-10 minutes of the pool time before being left cold and shivering .

Brekfast was not grest. No meat choices other than eggs that did not appear real in taste. Muffins were old/dry. Only two types of fruit. Coffee was good and hot.

Hallways needed to be vacuumed. Other guests banging on walls and doors yelling at all hours. Front desk notified but the behavior continued. I realize it is the off-season for the hotel, but still treat the guests properly.

The hotel is in a nice location. Our room was hard to locate however and did not get assistance from the front desk. The shower was either scratching hot or Luke warm, finding a middle ground was a challenge.

The service was so incredible! They made me feel like a local or even a friend! We traveled during the off season and enjoyed the quiet time… We took advantage of the warm pool, the super fast brand new upgraded WiFi, amenities like fire pits with a Mountain View at sunset, and the yummy deviled egg (and waffle) breakfast. I extended our stay an extra night, because we were enjoying the place and staff so much.

The first room we had did not have TV service. We were moved to another room, which was right across the hall from the other room (easily moved our belongings). The new room was equally as clean and nice as the and the tv worked. The young man helping at the front desk was very polite.

Property NOTHING like photos. Very run-down, both inner room and outer hallway doors had to be pushed hard to shut. Peeling paint visible. Looked like it had not been updated ever. Old.
SHOWER DID NOT WORK - water knob just spun and spun, only small trickle through faucet, nothing through shower at all. Reported to front desk but no remedy or apologies.

Check in was easy and worker was nice. Problem started in the hallway the front entrance was dirty there was bandages wraps on the floor. Room looked neat enough… but carpet was dirty, walls over by coffee maker was splattered with coffee, and there was a blood stain on the bathroom tub. I had drove 8 hours and was going to call down but there is no phones to call down and I exhausted and was just going to notify then the next morning. The line to speak to the worker was very long so we decided to return after breakfast… there was always a line to wait to talk to someone. Our check out morning the worker (different from the first) saw us standing at the desk and continued to conversant with some other guest. He started to walk out and told us to just leave the keys on the desk and we were good to go. We actually remembered that we had left something behind and went back to see if we could get it… worker was still outside talking to other guest and we were able to just grab the key off the desk go get what we forgot and return the key. And the worker was still outside! After the long drive I did not have the patiences to even try to talk to anyone… not clean, and not great service.
