Hotel Metropolitan

This property was great. I loved the character of an older building. The updates were very nice. We stayed one night before leaving on a cruise. Lots of stuff to do in the area. Lots of restaurant choices to walk to. 10 minute Uber ride to the cruise port. Only downside is no elevator so beware you will have to carry your luggage up the steps. There are only 3 floors so it’s not terrible. I enjoyed the self check in. You get a code the day of check in and you don’t have to talk to anyone. An introverts dream.

Had a great stay. Management was very responsive, instructions for checking were clear. The room was nice, seemed to be recently renovated. The only thing I didn’t like was there is no onsite parking, which they tell you ahead of time. Ended up costing me less money to find available parking on the street rather than paying the daily rate they offer to park a couple blocks away at a different hotel. Overall, great stay, would definitely stay again.

I think the property was really nice! When something says historic I didn’t know what to expect but my expectations were met! The only issue I had was the water pressure in the shower wasn’t there much and the biggest thing was the sink in the bathroom, it clogged everytime we used it, one night it took 35 minutes to drain out, besides that the room and hotel was excellent

The property was conveniently located not as convenient because of no elevators. Also keep in mind no staff on site however, just outdated for my style.

The showers need better hot water output. Beds need a better blanket.

We were not quite sure when we booked the room if it would be ok…not familiar with the area. However, this place was super easy, decorated wonderfully and had more than we Even needed for a one night stay! We both slept like babies! Well done conversion of an older unit - whoever decorated it had excellent taste - would stay at if in town again for sure! Found some wonderful Thai food across the street that made the trip even better! Thank you!

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and is our go to property.

So far we havent seen any workers or desk but we got in late and room is great!

The room was nice and modern. A few things could have been better but over all we loved it. The night was loud on the street but that is not on the property

I stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel in Long Beach, California, from December 22nd to December 27th, and my experience was absolutely miserable.First, the hotel has a putrid smell upon entry. The property is filthy, with dirty carpets and no visible efforts to maintain cleanliness or combat viruses, including COVID-19 or norovirus. Sanitization measures are completely lacking, which is unacceptable in today’s health-conscious environment.The hotel advertises as ADA compliant, but this is misleading. There are no elevators, only stairs, which meant I had to climb up and down repeatedly during my stay. This caused significant pain in my hips and legs, severely impacting my mobility and ruining my ability to enjoy my trip.To make matters worse, I became very ill during my stay, experiencing stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, weakness, fever, a runny nose, and a severe cough. I had to fly home sick on my last day, leaving me drained and miserable during what should have been a festive Christmas vacation. Upon checking in, I contacted both Expedia and the hotel management regarding the misleading advertisements and subpar conditions. I requested a refund so I could book elsewhere. The first staff member I spoke with, “Bob,” was rude, defensive, and unprofessional—he cussed at me, hung up, and flat-out refused to issue a refund. A second staff member, “Miss Tracy,” moved me to another room (Room 208), but it was just as dirty as the first. I also contacted Expedia for assistance

There had been 0 staff on property. I called to request another blanket and pillows and the staff member told me she was at a Christmas party and I "had to figure it out". I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service and their unwillingness to help.

Cool old Long Beach apartment building converted to a hotel. Clean rooms, great service, close to cool places.

For travelers need a clean and comfortable room with small kitchen conveniently located in downtown Long Beach this is perfect. Nothing special, but all basics covered.

So great, and Tracy the manger is amazing.

Beware no elevator no lobby service.
