Motel 6 Des Moines, IA - North

Friendly staff

Friendly clerk, gave me coffee. No coffee in lobby or rooms. No refrigerator in room, small microwave with little power. No hair dryer or shampoo. Holes in curtain and blanket. Very loud due to interstate and parking lot. No bedbugs, linens looked and smelled clean. Laminate flooring coming apart. Heating system worked very well. Not enough outlets, none close to bed so that you can charge as you use your phone. Room small. No table, just one chair.

The bed was made but the cleanliness of walls, doors, bathroom fixtures left alot to be desired. There was only bar soap and a minimum of towels. We were only about 2 hrs from home so decided jus to wait til we got home. There was no hair dryer, coffee maker, mini fridge, or even a drawer in any of the furniture! I saw a small bug run across the floor in the bathroom The interstate was rather loud from our room. The absolute worst part was as we were leaving, looking around the room to make sure we got all of our belongings, my husband noticed something on the shelf above the towel holder. It turned out to be syringes, someone had stashed there. I notified the woman at the front desk. She was not happy about it, yet didn’t seem surprised by it. So no, we will not be returning to that location ever! I do NOT reccomend this motel to anyone.

Cockroaches in room

Non stop kept hearing pounding on doors men speaking us federal marshals here with an arrests warrants for the first night until next day like 4pm and one of the staff was rude and rash and harsh and rude in about alot of people checking in and out of the rooms the clients rented out including my best friend steve crow

Strange location to find but nice folks at check in. Very dirty and run down.

Within 5 minutes of being in the room we found roaches in the beds and on the nightstand. Parking lot area had some "self employed" pharmacists that were loud and not anything against him but there was a young autistic man yelling in the parking lot outside the rooms. Apparently he lives around the hotel and comes by nightly to check on the front desk lady, which is very kind of him and we would never hold it against him for just being himself. Hotel listing said it had a pool and that it was open but immediately after I got the confirmation email they sent me another saying that their pool was closed due to covid restrictions. Kinda seemed like some slick false advertising. Lastly, before we found the roaches, I plugged in my cell phone cord and the wall socket sparked, sure that's a fire hazard. I would definitely NOT recommend anyone stay at this hotel, especially people with children, elderly, asthma or other breathing problems or any self respecting clean person for that matter.

Check in - gentleman rude and unfriendly. Area smelled trash everywhere outside. Did not have Size bed requested and no fridge. When i asked about fridge kid was rude and said would be over an hour before they brought me one. When i returned later it was left outside and i had to drag in. If that wasnt bad..the bugs and cockroaches crawling everywhere was disgusting. Black mold on celing in bathroom. Will never ever stay at a motel 6 again.

Where do I begin with this horrible place. Yhe 1st room we got when me & husband entred the room was trashed toliet was full of poop. Shower was nasty and dirty. I couldn't sleep I was constantly looking for bed bugs and roaches I was constantly itching all night long. They refuse to give us a refund in cash said we had go to go through hotels.com which was false. It took my husband calling cooperate to get our money back they offered a free stay I definitely refused. I will sleep in my car before I ever stay there again. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!

Nothing. The worst on our trip

I’m sorry I was an inconvenience for the front desk staff and interrupted his phone call! With all of these rooms available and he could see I am elderly, because he rudely told me to give him my id, with a bad knee, he put me upstairs in the back. I parked in front of the office so it wasn’t too full.
