Motel 6 Fort Lauderdale, FL

The room key system was not working and we had to have someone let us into our room everytime we left. There seemed to be a lot of "activity" in and around the hotel. Although the room was clean.

This place was horrible. Ghetto area and people. Felt very unsafe. We actually left and stayed at another hotel. We didn’t return to stay the night.

I would not recommend to anyone especially traveling with a small family. There were sketchy people sitting right outside the lobby smoking something that wasn’t cigarettes and going in and out while I was checking in. That should have been my red flag but I was desperate for a room for one night. The front desk rep ripped a corner of the paper to give me my room number. Elevators didn’t work so we had to use the stairwell. Me and my husband and 3 children carrying all of our luggage. Walked in our room and the lights were flickering. They would not stay on. We walked in and walked right out. Requested a refund/cancellation. This hotel was not safe for our family. Very very dirty. The hotel pics online are severely incorrect. The rep at the front desk said she would cancel our stay but I don’t know if she will do it. I’m going to reach out to Expedia.

Staff was very accommodating - they saw that I had heavier luggage and offered me a first floor room without me even asking. My room was near the front of the property, so I had a little noise from foot traffic, but my bed was very comfortable and my room was perfect for what I needed.

We would not recommend. Property was dirty and smelly. Gave some story about keys not working and had to have front desk person escort you to the room and use a passkey. We left same night and found somewhere else to stay. Only good thing I can say is staff was friendly.

No key cards available at check in. Property smelled of and rot and cat urine. Lights in the room did not work. No mini fridge. Room unclean around the bed, but sheets were (from what I could tell)

I had a bad experience on my check in. It is a good hotel for the price but I did not feel safe. People walking around the parking, inside the cars (looks like drug users).

I booked this place based on really decent reviews, but I was completely shocked by how awful the entire experience was. When I showed up I was informed that the key system was down and I would not have a key to my room. The guy at the front desk (who was slurring) told me that he would have to let me in the room and if I left for any reason he would have to let me back in. He then proceeds to lead me to the stairs where he watched me lug my 3 bags up two flights by myself. The entire place smelled like it flooded and never dried out. There were sketchy looking folk in the lobby and halls. At the very least I should have been informed about the key issue when I called a few hours prior to check in. As a female traveling alone, I have never felt as unsafe as I did in this disgusting place.

Our room was not properly cleaned when they gave us the keys. We waited for the cleaning lady fo prepare our room for an additional half an hour

Staff could not find our reservation even though we called ahead and verified. Took 20 minutes to get the room debating with the staff that we had a reservation. Showed confirmation # they told us that they never heard of Orbitz and we were scammed and never had a reservation

Please see recent stay review. Great front desk staff and manager. Housekeeping needs to do better though, floors are very dirty, but bedding, towels and surfaces are clean.

Manager and front desk staff were great, rooms were okay, not the cleanest rooms but it was a comfortable stay. No charge for pets and no astronomical deposit to pay at check in. Dealing with hotels.com was a disaster, but dealing with the hotel itself was super! Definitely WAY better at this location than another Motel 6 I stayed in recently. I stayed 3 or 4 nights and will definitely stay again. The area is not bad either, again, not the best, but definitely not the worst. I felt totally safe here and had no problems with my stay or the hotel. I'll stay again, but I did get flea bites around my ankles, but not sure because they could have been from the other motel 6 I was in recently (I'm traveling) or could have been from out in the grass. I'm a vet professional so my dogs are protected and I didn't see any evidence of fleas in the room here and the bedding was clean but the other hotel was questionable. This hotel experience was very good though, I recommend it if you have pets and/or on a budget.

I had booked it for a friend from out of town!

The room looked NOTHING like the website photos. Although the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, it just didn't justify the $300 a night rate we paid. After we checked out in the morning, while waiting for an Uber in the property's parking lot, we were approaching by an individual who appeared down on his luck, and was asking us and the other patrons for money. That in and of itself isn't really an issue, but it doesn't really reflect well on a business. I was genuinely disappointed with the majority of our stay, and could not in good conscience recommend this place to anyone.

Everything was nice& clean

This is convenient for people coming to Ft Lauderdale for one night. Restaurant right next door. Close to airport and freeway. Perfect for a Miami cruise.

The staff were wonderful. The hall and rooms needed some deep cleaning, there was a musty smell in my room. It’s the least expensive stay around that area so for the price, it’s fine.
