This was our second time staying at the Crown Hotel. We very much enjoy staying here. It’s super easy to access other parts of Northern Wales from her, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff very accommodating. The room was great too.

Hotel is a perfect stop over for the night however anyone over 6 foot might struggle as its a very old building with lots crammed in, as a result the layout is awkard to say the least. But that being said its clean, the bar didnt appear to open at all so if you hoping for a drink in the evening you have to wonder elsewhere.

Welcoming service, excellent breakfast choices, room was clean and bed was comfort, only problem we had was the fridge didn't work only the light bulb but not temp and made milk n butter go off next day after day before purchase, due to warmth. In all service n cleanliness was excellent.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment/family room which had two bathrooms, very comfortable beds plus a fridge and kitchen area. We loved it. Unfortunately neither television worked, but this is the only negative. Breakfast was included which was an added bonus.

Hi, the property is a 17th century Inn, so I expected a bit of Quirkiness !! ie having to bend at the knees to have a pee, but that shouldn’t have affected “Breakfast” !! which was very disappointing. The place needs to give serious thought to how it can operate a breakfast service that is acceptable. Breakfast fare was pre cooked & placed in non heated containers on a very small bar top (more a shelf) for clients to help them selves. Milk was a plastic unopened bottle on the top & there were no EGG options at all. Obviously no serviette’s !! So, to conclude, breakfast did not meet the minimum standard one should expect, far from it. No wonder they don’t do any other food, they can’t even cope with a breakfast. Also, off road parking is minimal (4cars) …… I probably won’t hear back from Expedia but “The Crown Hotel”, I would suggest, is doing them no favours. More than disappointing that I paid in excess of £100 for this experience. Has put me off using EXPEDIA going forward. Kind Regards Richard Tallentire

This a lovely spot a few miles out of Llangollen. We were greeted warmly by staff who helped with us everything we needed. Everything we needed was in the room and breakfast was fab! Would certainly return.

We stayed for 1 night. It was lovely and clean/spotless in the apartment we had with everything we needed...don't be put off with the slightly and I mean slightly tired exterior. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choices and the hosts were very helpful. My only real issue was that the communication was difficult as they didn't speak very clear English/Welsh but they really made up for that in willingness to please. Locals were friendly too. We would definitely stay again.

The car park is small but can fit 4 cars. The reception of the hotel is welcoming. The 4 person suite /room is located outside of the main hotel where the old garage was. Our room was a good size and both the bedroom and living space had a large tv. The bathroom is a good size but could do with hooks too hang clothes. The room also had a kitchenette which was useful, unfortunately the microwave had not been cleaned resulting in food from a previous visitor being moulting. Staff were quick to remove this when pointed out.

This was such a lovely hotel. Very clean, and the room was so comfortable. The owners are so so kind and nothing is too much. The breakfast is brilliant, and you’re given filter coffee and fresh toast as soon as you sit down. The value for money is amazing. I would stay here again and again. Thank you so much!

Very small hotel (old coaching Inn) with very small car park. Some character, which was nice but looked very worn from the outside. All stairs (no lift) and main doors locked at 9pm, so had to use fire escape to get in (as they had said we could). Room was pristine, but a bit small. Very well equipped, tho. We had a 'studio suite' so there was a small kitchen area, with sink and fridge. Tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits provided, plus small selection of toiletries. TV had an aerial, which didn't quite reach the window, so reception was a bit hit and miss. Wifi worked fine. Bed was rather uncomfortable, with springs being very obvious on laying down. Room was very cold, as radiator didn't work (although our friends had an electric heater in their room, and said it was fine). Good secondary glazing. Staff were helpful but their English was very limited. Bar only had bottles and cans, no draught, and limited beers (plus, closed at 9pm). Breakfast buffet looked good, with both cooked and continental, but we didn't have time to sample the food. Overall, a bit basic, and, despite the fabulous cleanliness, wouldn't stay again.

We had a nice phone call on the night to check everything was ok - service, I can't fault. The owners are very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was nice, however, it was a bit hard with the language barrier - but as I say, I cannot fault the service they gave! It was a lovely room and ideal for our stay - more surprising it was set up like a little Air BnB with a fridge, microwave and mini-kitchen in the room too, so great if you're travelling on business. The one real downside was the light which kept on flickering off and on throughout the night, but we couldn't turn it off! Overall - I can't fault the owners. They were lovely, and that's the first part I look for when looking for a hotel!
