Easy to check in. Ideal location for us as we wanted to be close enough to our destination which was Alton towers. Very busy on the Friday night as the hotel is across the road from a football stadium. Saturday night was quieter apart from kids being kids, running up and down and playing knock and run, but they were kids and bored. Room was dark there wasn't a main light and the room is navy blue so felt dark inside the room was clean and bedding was clean. Tea and coffee making facilities available. The only issue we had was the room was freezing cold the heating didn't do anything but just came on and off of its own accord blowing room temperature air and it was very loud. We were overall happy as it was a pit stop for us. The price I feel was a little high but I believe it was probably slightly more due to football match being on a Friday night and that is close to Alton towers.

The rooms were dirty with dog feces on the floor and bed bugs. Would not recommend.

We were made very welcome by Laura on reception who was very friendly and answered all our questions so wanted to mention her particularly. Room was nice and comfortable, breakfast was good and Laura helped show us where everything was.

Excellent service, lovely breakfast, zero shower water pressure.

The property was OK overall but extremely noisy. We were travelling all day and the next as well so really wanted a good sleep. However there is zero sound proofing. People and children have been talking and running in front of our door until around midnight.

Close to football stadium

I booked a twin room more than a month prior to staying only to arrive and they tell me there are no twin rooms left but you can have a double and a sofa bed (usually very uncomfortable ) which when we got to the room wasn't even made up and there was no bed linen or duvet for it in the room. Due to it being very late at night and being exhausted I didn't have the energy to go back to reception to find some one and wait to have them make it up so I ended up sharing the double bed with my mother! Will not book again with holiday inn.

Room 301, should have padding on wall next to lift, kept me awake most of night. Green fire exit light in room too bright, was like daylight. Pillows needed to have 2 types, all hard, ended up not using any pillows. Door not completely lockable, had to block with a towel. No signs outside saying keep noise down, and kids screaming until 0140 in corridor. Breakfast looked like it was cooked by a candle, undercooked has browns, very average food, bacon didnt taste of anything?

Delivered what is expected from a Holiday Inn Express providing value for Money. Evening menu is limited.

Stayed here for one night during our visit to Alton Towers (about 30 minutes away). Service was friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean and tidy. Bed comfy. Breakfast was decent (though not quite Premier Inn standard). We usually book Premier Inns and have shied away from the Holiday Inn brand but this trip may have changed our minds on that. PS. My son had forgotten his phone charging cable and the staff member was happy to go the extra mile to find one to loan him.

Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the room was too cold & we had to have them bring a heater for us to use.

Great stay

Room was quite tight for a family as we needed a travel cot for our 14month old. He couldn't share the double sofa bed. Also I think it was just about overpriced at the bar. £10 for a large wine...and not even a very special one was abit excessive.
