Filthy noisy tourist trap with a great view.
We booked 6 nights but ran away after 2.
For starters this is definitely not a 4-star hotel as listed on Google, but a rather spartan hostel, which is reflected in the poor quality of bedding, “tiredness” of room decor, filthy unwashed windows and the tiny bathrooms. But the worst is the complete lack of sound proofing from the loud noise of the trams overhead (going on for most of the night), neighbouring rooms and the hordes of rowdy tourists under the windows.
Yes, the views are spectacular, and yes, the service is friendly. But sadly, this is where it ends and doesn’t nearly justify the price.
After two sleepless nights with a child, listening to someone coughing nonstop in the room next to us, we gave up and checked out, moving to another accommodation in Foz ( which turned out amazing).
The worst was that in response to some reviews similar to ours the representatives of the hotel comment they would’ve given a refund if given an opportunity to resolve the issue. We genuinely tried this for over a month holding back the review even. But in the end they just reiterated they can’t issue a refund and blaming it on Booking. While Booking always leaves it at the discretion of the hotel management, so such responses are obviously just empty statements.
Porto is a beautiful city with many beautiful options on where to stay, so consider other offers and don’t ruin your holiday.
