What You'll Experience

Take great selfies on multi-colored beach huts in Brighton; then take a ride on the historic Puffing Billy Steam Train; and see Phillip Island's cute penguins on a day trip from Melbourne.
Ride the hundred-year-old Puffing Billy Steam Train
Visit Maru Park, where you can see most Australia local Animals
Drop by The Nobbies Centre, a rugged rocky outcrop with magnificent coastal views
Spot Seal Rocks – home to Australia's largest colony of fur seals
Witness the Penguin Parade from the tiered seating of general viewing grandstands directly overlooking floodlit Summerland Beach at Phillip Island Nature Parks

The first stop on the trip is the Brighton Bathing Boxes. The 82 Brighton bathing boxes are distinctive due to their consistent scale and proportion, construction materials, sentry order alignment, and a Planning Scheme Heritage Overlay on a beach owned by Bayside City Council. Brighton was Melbourne's favourite seaside destination for a long time in the late nineteenth century. A well-known Bayside landmark and cultural treasure are the Brighton bathing boxes.

Visit Maru Koala and Animal Park. Maru is a family-run attraction where you can see koalas, wombats, crocodiles, kangaroos, Australian birds, wallabies, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, emus and even more!

Continue to the Puffing Billy Steam Train. The Puffing Billy is Australia's oldest steam railway. The architecture of the station follows the style of a small British rural station, passes through the primitive forest park, and shuttles through the verdant Dandenong Ranges, with lush fern gullies brushing past and Mountain Ash trees towering overhead, giving visitors a sense of tranquillity and beauty.

Continue to the western tip of Phillip Island to The Nobbies Centre, a rugged rocky outcrop with magnificent coastal views. The Nobbies let visitors zoom in on the largest colony of Australian fur seals that call the rocks around the centre home. This offers an excellent opportunity to look out over the seal colony as they languish and frolic on the rocks and in the water.

As the sun sets, we head out to Summerland Beach and grab a spot on the boardwalk. Observe hundreds of little penguins come up to the shore, making their way across the beach to their homes in the sand dunes. See the world's smallest penguin in its natural habitat from viewing stands and boardwalks. Enjoy educational displays in the visitor centre and the spectacular coastal scenery from the Penguin Parade. This experience is sure to be the highlight of your visit. We leave this enchanting island when the parade is over.

The tour ends in Melbourne CBD around 23:30 PM.
