Otaru Aquarium
Visit Japan's first aquarium consisting of two main areas: the main building and the marine mammal park, where you can see "mouse dolphins". Inside, you'll find over 250 species and more than 5,000 rare creatures, including the world's largest North Pacific giant octopus, which measures over 5 meters in length, and the glowing, swaying naked sea butterfly, as well as the northern fulmar, designated as a near-threatened species. Must-see shows include dolphin performances and seal feeding, along with the "Penguin Snow Walk," providing a fun experience for both adults and children.
*Note: The Otaru Aquarium will be closed from December 10, 2024, to December 13, 2024, and from February 26 to March 15, 2025
