This area was once called Malay Lane, but then renamed to Armenian Street (or Lebuh Armenian) after the Armenians occupation in 1808. Being a part of George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site's core zone, the region is home to many historical temples and buildings, including the Chinese clan house “Cheah Kongsi”. Armenian Street is also popular for the ‘Children on a Bicycle’ mural by Armenian artist Ernest Zacharevic.
