Selamat Datang Monument was inaugurated in 1962 to welcome the visitors of Asian Games IV at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia. Also known as Bundaran HI, this name of the landmark is inspired from its proximity to Hotel Indonesia. Being one of Jakarta’s historical statues, this monument often becomes a city center where people gather for demonstrations, community activities, or Sunday’s car-free day that is held from 06:00 am to 11:00 am.
