Tegallalang Rice Terraces are located in the hilly village of Ceking, around 20 minutes by car from Ubud. Using the traditional subak irrigation system, terraced rice fields dotted with coconut trees form a postcard-perfect image of rural Balinese life. Visitors can enjoy a simple meal at restaurants overlooking the fields or take pictures with a farmer for a small fee. Nearby, small shops sell straw hats, wooden carvings, and other souvenirs made by local craftsmen.
