1. Singapore Island Cruise Ferry (SICF)

Just a heads up, the ferry follows a specific path: MSP first, then it nips over to St. John's Island, and then heads to Kusu Island. On the way back, it's a straight shot to MSP. How long is the ferry ride from Singapore to Kusu Island? It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour; a quick nap will take you there!

Schedule:

Weekdays: Departing times are at 9 AM, 10 AM, 11 AM, and 2 PM. Leaving the island at 12:30 PM and 4 PM.

Weekends: Departing at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM and head back at 10:15 PM, 12:15 PM, 2:15 PM, 4:15 PM, and 6:15 PM.

Some things you need to keep in mind:

Babies under one sail for free, no worries there. Your ticket covers both ways to and from St. John's/Lazarus Island and Kusu Island, all in one go. Bonus! There might be extra fees during Kusu season, so watch for that.
Don't be fashionably late! Aim to get to the ferry terminal at least 25 minutes before it sets sail. Grab your ticket, and then you're good to hop on board.

2. Marina South Ferries (MSF)

MSF is another option you can choose. It's a good choice for those who want to head to Kusu without stopping by the neighbouring islands. This allows you to choose your destination without any stopovers.

Here are all the things you need to know:

Free Rides for Little Ones: Toddlers under two can sail for free!
Weather Woes: Don't worry about a bit of rain; the ferries run most of the time. Superbad weather might cause delays, though; safety first!
Change of Plans? Tickets can't be refunded, but you can use them for a later ferry if there's space. Just ask nicely!
Missed the Last Ferry? No Worries: Fear not! If you miss the final ferry, they can get you a special boat back for SGD 90. Just remember, it's a bit pricier than the regular ferry since you basically renting it as a whole
Bring Your Furry Friends: Got a furry travel buddy? They're welcome on board for free! Remember, while they can roam leash-free in certain areas, it's your job as the parent to ensure they follow the rules.
Bikes and Bulky Bits: Fancy taking your bike on an island adventure? Marina South Ferries is all for it! They're happy to accommodate other bulky items like wheelchairs, coolers, skis, and surfboards, too. Just ask the crew if there's space.
Return Trip Tips: Don't stress about booking your return ferry; it's first come, first served. They'll even add more ferries to get everyone back on time.

Ferry Schedule:

MSF departs from MSP at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Meanwhile, they leave Kusu Island at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM.

If you're an early bird, there's a 9:00 AM ferry from Marina South Pier to St. John's Island, continuing to Kusu Island at 9:30 AM. It might not reach Kusu directly, but at least you can also get around St. John's Island. Win-win solution!

Choosing the Right Ferry

Both ferry companies offer a comfortable and convenient way to reach Kusu. Here's a quick breakdown to help you decide:

Choose the SICF if: You're open to visiting St. John's Island on your way to Kusu Island and are okay with a slightly longer journey.
Opt for MSF if: You prefer a direct route to Kusu Island and want more flexibility in choosing your return time, especially if you plan to explore St. John's Island on a separate trip.
