Public Boat

General information: Public boats are a popular mode of transportation from Bangsal port in Lombok to the Gili Islands. Both locals and travelers frequently use them. The boats depart hourly, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

Fares: When traveling between the Gili Islands by boat, fares may vary depending on the route. For example, a trip from Gili Trawangan to Gili Meno or Gili Air typically costs between IDR 20,000 and IDR 30,000, while a journey from Gili Meno to Gili Air generally costs around IDR 12,000.

Route: You can take public boats to travel between Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air daily. The journey from Gili Trawangan to Gili Meno or Gili Air takes 10-15 minutes, while the journey from Gili Meno to Gili Air takes about 5-10 minutes. Public boats typically leave every 30-45 minutes.

Operational hours: The public boat runs daily from 8am to 5pm. However, if there are few visitors, the boat may stop running earlier, around 4pm.

Tips: Please note that public boats to the Gili Islands can be very busy, especially during holidays. To ensure you have a seat, arriving early and buying your tickets before you leave is highly recommended.

Bicycle

General information: The easiest way to get around Gili Islands is by using a bicycle. Bicycles are popular among tourists because the small islands make biking comfortable and enjoyable. You can rent a bike at a reasonable price by negotiating with the rental company.

Fares: Bicycle rental rates on the Gili Islands vary, with prices usually ranging from IDR 50,000 - IDR 100,000 per day. Renting bicycles by the day is highly recommended to save more money.

Tips: Before renting a bike, you should check its condition. While exploring, make sure to keep the bike safe. Even if the roads are narrow, always wear a helmet and ride carefully.

Horses

Fares: Horse rides on the Gili Islands vary by route and duration. It costs around IDR 100,000 to IDR 50,000 per hour. It can be cheaper on Gili Meno and Gili Air, usually between IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000 per hour. Some local tour operators offer horseback riding packages to explore all three islands, with prices ranging from IDR 500,000 to IDR 700,000 per person for 3-4 hours.

Tips: To ride a horse safely, ask about the horse and guide beforehand. Be kind to the horse and speak softly. Wear a helmet and comfortable shoes, and follow all the rules. Also, make sure the horse and guide are trustworthy.

Private Slow Boat

General information: Private Slow Boats are very popular among tourists to explore the Gili Islands to relax and enjoy the sea views.

Fares: Private Slow Boat fares in Gili Islands vary. A small boat for 4-6 people usually costs IDR 600,000 to IDR 1,000,000 per day. Meanwhile, the price of renting a bigger and more luxurious boat starts from IDR 4,000,000 to IDR 7,000,000 per day. The prices may be cheaper if you rent the boat for several days.

Route: To get around Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air, you can take a boat trip that stops at each island. Some tour operators also offer snorkeling tours and going to the beaches.

Cidomo

Fares: Cidomo rides have varying prices depending on the distance and number of passengers. A short ride trip usually costs between IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000. Several tour companies also offer Cidomo tour packages for a few hours of travel, costing around IDR 300,000 to IDR 500,000 per person.

Tips: Choose a Cidomo that looks healthy and well-maintained. Make sure not to put too much weight on it.
