Colonial Palms Motor Inn

Friendly staff.

We stayed at Colonial Palms for 3 nights. We were extremely unhappy with our experience. We felt disgusted when we walked in to the room. Cleanliness standard was so low. The bathroom towels had yellow stains all over it. We didn’t use them throughout our stay! Toilet had black stains in it and smelled like vinegar. There were three dead insects in our room when we arrived. I communicated all these issues with the front desk but the lady had an attitude kept rolling her eyes at me the whole time. I showed her the stains and dead insects and she rudely told me “you are in nature”! She said black stain is because of the area’s water. I did not see the black stain anywhere else in toilets in Arlie beach! Nothing about our stay was pleasant other than spending time outside of the hotel on the tours! We regret booking this hotel and recommend to everyone to pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.

A nice hotel which we enjoyed staying at. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast of cereals, juice, croissants, breads, yogurt, and fruits. Nice view from our room and breakfast area. Pools were very pretty, but we did not use as we were swimming in the ocean all the time. It’s a little out of the main area of town, maybe 10 minutes walking. There is a local bus which cost 1 Australian dollar to use all day if you don’t want to walk. Only issue we had was our door blind to the balcony would not close, but it wasn’t a problem for us. No elevator, so if you have mobility issues ask for a ground floor room.

Very good hotel with wonderful staff, very good food in the restaurant, cozy jungle-like pool area, comfortable beds, location only a couple of hundred meters from the ferry to Hamilton airport, close to the center 15 min walk. the only area of ​​improvement is that the cleaning could have been done more carefully. But the overall impression is very good

The staff where very friendly nothing was a problem

Nice accommodation, nothing to say against it. Even if it is located on a main road, it’s quiet and calm. Nothing to regret. Only, the choice (e.g. a nice salad is missing) of food in the restaurant could be more diverse. But there’s nothing to say regarding the quality of the food!

Friendly staff, local to town, only short walk.

It’s a short walk to the main part if Airlie. Swim towels in the room would be good, to save the hassle of going to reception to collect them.

8thnight of journey. Best one yet

We stayed for 2 nights & thought the location was good, only a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. The room was clean & tidy and was good value.

Nice location and clean rooms, but the pool area needs to be updated and the lounge chairs need to be replaced as most of them are broken.

The hotel and room are very good. All the staff are very friendly and kind. The only small problem is that we received a voucher each for a free drink at dinner, but when we went to order food at 8:05 the girls said that the kitchen had closed at 8pm, but the room information says that dinner is until 9pm, so we were left without dinner and without using the vouchers, as we would only be entitled to drinks if we were having dinner. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the center of Airlie Beach, where there is everything.

This was such an incredible place to stay. The service was impeccable and the folks who work here are just lovely!! Special shout outs to Maeve, Summer, Greg and Gloria! Cannot wait to return. Also amazing jazz on tuesday

Very clean, large room, great host, very helpful.

We were greeted by Georgie at reception, who is amazing, our check in took seconds, our room was great and the bed was so comfortable, we had a delicious meal in the restaurant served to us by Maéve. Breakfast was delicious. Summer was on reception when we checked out. The Colonial Palms is a great little place with fantastic staff who are there to help you at the drop of a hat! We will be returning to this charming property.

The Inn is of an older style, open, airy and designed well to take advantage of the tropical sun and cool sea breeze. It is situated an easy walking distance from the busy area of town so a nice quiet place to retreat. Right on the public transport bus route from Shute Harbour to Proserpine, well priced rooms with views and friendly relaxed staff, I would recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Airlie Beach.

A nice quiet, cute place to stay close to shopping and tours.

This is an incredible place, the people who work here is just so affully sweet.

We enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk everywhere we needed to get too, very safe, staff very helpful, very nice location easy access to everywhere the main strip, port of Airlie, beautiful easy walk to Sorrento Restaurant at Coral Sea Marina safe for families and couples to walk everywhere in Airlie Beach and the live music was exceptional fantastic artists and musicians we will definitely return in September great weather will always have Airlie in our hearts
