There's a lot of high rise construction workers in the area start working at 6 too loud for sleeping through

A very old hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Agreat variety of food and service was fantastic 👌.

Convenient to bus station and public transport as I nolonger drive myself.

Noise and no elevator for elderly.

Quick and easy check-in, with all necessary information provided in a friendly manner. The room was small, but contained all necessary items, and was surprisingly quiet once the window was closed. Shared toilet facilities were clean and tidy, but rather cramped. The hotel is old, and shows its age in the layout and room sizes, but was clean, tidy, comfortable and good value for money.

So this is a “hotel” in the old fashioned meaning of the word, it’s actually a traditional Australian pub with upstairs lodgings. No ensuites, so bathrooms are shared like in a hostel. No airconditioning so rooms get a bit stuffy on a hot humid day, though the absurdly tall ceilings and stone walls do make it tolerable. The rooms open straight out to the balcony which is pretty cool tbh. No kettles or running water in the rooms. No room service. The TV didn’t tune anything, but the wifi was good, over 50Mbps reliably. The building looks over 100 years old, it’s too bad they don’t lean into that and sell it as a traditional Aussie public house experience. Some people complained their rooms were too small, but the twin room I was in was huge, so I’d book the twin even if you’re staying by yourself. If you want the hostel experience but with your own private room, and like the idea of living above a pub and hanging out on the balcony with a drink from the bar and a smoke, the Metro is for you. If you want a modern hotel experience, you will be disappointed. I kind of liked it and am curious what other heritage listed hotel/pubs are like around Adelaide now. For the same price per night though I would stay in even a crappy modern hotel instead though.

The staff were lovely, very professional but regarding the room, you get what you pay for.

It’s not a flash place, but they don’t overcharge when events are in town, and for the lack of price-gouging alone, gets 5 stars. Is a basic room with a fan, shared shower which is fine, toiletries and towel provided.

I am really annoyed cause I paid the money and when I got there no one was there and so I couldn’t sleep there and now I have lost the money cause every time I call them they don’t answer there phone for me to get my money back since when I got there I couldn’t get in let alone stay

Room was run down

you get what you pay for. i just needed a room with a lock and that’s what it was. clean bed, no AC but a very robust ground fan. loud area but i was there for the nightlife anyway. was given a key to get in after hours. can’t complain!

The room condition in't up to par, there are issues with hygiene cleanliness and size the room was misrepresented in the description. I booked in and paid then on viewing the room went out and found another room in the city, then returned to hotel and handed the keys back. Regards Kaylene.
