Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach

It was excellent stay

Complicated check in & out, staff made process hard and timely. Pool restrictions are overboard, kids not allowed in spa or indoor pool, indoor pool therefore not used much at all so why have it there, kids kept on being asked to leave spa very often which annoyed everyone who were paying good money to use the facilities. Breakfast was great with good variety, Ammos restaurant was expensive.

The refurbishment in all areas felt like I was in the Sofitel Darling harbor, Elegant, especially the hallways to the rooms.. The employees were great just as good. I enjoyed it a lot, I felt like I went away from Sydney for a break and still felt safe in my own country.. nightlife cafes, too much to choose from, went for a massage. the beach was beautiful.!

Much improved since our previous stay years before. Update to rooms and facilities a welcome improvement. Looking forward to finished product once the rest of the build is complete.

This is my second stay at the Brighton Novotel, traveling from the Gold Coast. Our first experience was amazing, even though the weather wasn’t great. We had a fantastic time enjoying the indoor pool and spa. However, on our recent trip with the kids, the weather wasn’t ideal again, but this time the kids weren’t allowed to use the indoor pool or spa. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn’t enjoy those facilities either, as I had to supervise them. It was a bit disappointing, as I felt it could have made their trip even more memorable. If you arrive early, you’re not allowed to use the facilities unless you've arranged an early check-in. I didn't plan ahead, but fortunately, the reception was very accommodating and found us another room that was ready, allowing us to check in right away. After a long flight with three kids, I was really grateful to be able to settle into the room straight away.

Over all we were happy with our stay. The staff and hotel it's self were great and I love the art deco feel of the lobby. Some things I didn't like was the music coming from the street playing till late. The pool area was extremely crowded, when we went to the pool there was at least 20 children in the hot tub, jumping to and from the pool. There was a section by the bar, which was signed "No children passed this point" however when I walked through it there was at least 9 children there. The hotel also makes it clear that it is a non smoking hotel however there was a number of people smoking around the bar area.

The lovely lady that checked us in and out was delightful. Room beautifully renovated. Will stay again before night before flight home.

Fantastic night. Wonderful room, comfortable, amazing view, huge comfortable bed, great tea and coffe, awesome fluffy towels. Would be even better if there were EV charging available and free parking with the room. That was a bit of an issue.

Walls are thin, staff are pleasant until you need something Great stay for over 18 years old, teenagers treated like toddlers with restrictions on amenities. Watch for extra charges

The reception in the hotel, it’s very bad. They not talk nicely with the customer. It’s one guys there his name is Harpist Kanwar I wanna make complain for this guy Because I make this book for my sister like forgive it for her and her family because it’s a new year but this guys he not accept to make check in for her and he tell her your sister she have to come and already I give it all my information on my license idea with my card bank for my sister After my sister, she called me on I talk with him and he’s very hard to accept the booking and I tell him always. I make bookings under my name to all my family and friends for the gift.

Pros: Anne at reception really made a difference when checking in. The staff at the sands bar during breakfast were really attentive. The newly renovated bar & pool have great aesthetics. There are many dining options around the hotel. The view of the sunrise was amazing from the room. Cons: The New Year policy during our stay was new & surprised me with the amount of the deposit being asked and they only advised me when i arrived. The fridge in the room smelt a little. When i had one less person stay in the room, they would not reduce the breakfast per head amount. Overall, if you’re looking for an aesthetic vibe, lots of food options around the hotel, facilities galore and friendly staff then this is a great option.

Would not allow us to unload our car at the lobby, they allowed other people to do so! Just because we had an older car in beautiful condition… I think is why. But unacceptable just the same. All other staff were delightful!

Conveniently located - great for evening and morning walks along the beach - loved the renovations of the hotel - there was no minibar or snacks in the hotel room but an easy 5min walk to Cole’s and other shops compensated for it - great room service and fast delivery - the gym and pool fantastic - did not use the hotel restaurants as they were booked out but plenty of restaurants outside to choose from - overall a great family friendly hotel
