Hotel Mercure Roeselare

Very nice rooms (headboard quite worn though) but noise from adjoining room very distracting when trying to rest. Bar and restaurant nicely appointed, ate breakfast elsewhere because 21 euro for breakfast buffet is a bit high. Other amenities are nice though.

This is one of Accor's better efforts, despite being situated on a business park. I can think of some really grim Novotels in France in similar surroundings. So friendly staff, big, clean rooms, nice bar and restaurant. But there are always things that annoy. An accessible room where the tea and coffee stuff is on a shelf at eye level for someone standing, so impossible for a wheelchair user. TV only viewable if you are on the bed. And the restaurant menu via QR code on your phone and thus barely readable. If you refuse you get an iPad to look at the menu, not much better. Print the bloody thing out and you won't get deducted two stars on Trip Advisor.

The AC never worked and the room was hot. When I spoke to the front desk they sent someone up to fix it but instead they just opened a window. The shower had no hot water for 2 days. The water pressure dropped to nothing for minutes at a time.

I travel a lot due to my work and I often needs to come here. Excellent hotel! Quality of service, rooms, restaurant is always the same. It's almost always full so don't hesitate to reserve in advance ;)
