Comfortable quiet night…. Amazing restaurant with awesome food!!

Ok the middle of nowhere!

Negatives: Originally I was assigned a room that reeked of stale cigarette smoke. An attempt to mask the smell with vanilla freshener made it even worse. I was then assigned a room that I was told was renovated, but the only difference was that the flooring had been changed from carpet to laminate. Bathroom was dated and the grout was gross. It was really difficult to control the temperature in the room as there is no wall thermostat. You control it from an old large heater/air conditioning unit. The TV only had 9 channels but staff managed to correct this until there was a cable company outage and then it went back to 9 channels. I could call out on the phone but the party I was calling could not hear me. This is the only hotel I have ever checked into that did not have a secure internet connection. The attached sportsbar to the hotel does tho. The overall stench of smoke on the 2nd floor and elevator was terrible. I was at this hotel for 4 nights as I was visiting a sick relative. Both the rooms I was assigned were on the 3rd floor. I spoke personally to the manager on the day before I left and politely addressed my concerns. She really didn't seem to care. Breakfast not included in the cost of the room. Positives Staff at the front desk did try and fix the problems but obviously limited unless this hotel puts some money into the place. The Sports Bar had good pub food.

The attached restaurant and bar area was great! Rooms were clean, but small.

I could hear the neighbor room resident phone alarm. And Siri replies about the weather today

My room turned out to be attached to another room so the people in the next room we’re partying and all the noise was coming through the door and my bed was right beside the door I should at least get some sort of a discount or a refund for that annoyance

Stay away unless you need to stay at a hotel that looks like it has not been maintained since the 1980s. The heating unit is old, had missing knobs and blew cold air at times during my stay in late November. The ceiling above the heating unit had a ton of brown and black dirty stuck to it, likely from visible dirt inside blowing out from the heating unit vents. The dust on the light fixtures was the least of all. Worse than all this was the bathroom. More than half the bath tiles had black and brown mold stains that no one bother to wash off. The prize for worse maintenance goes to the toilet seat. It featured hair from a prior guest. Stay away!

Didn’t clean room no fresh towels

Hotel is outdated, wallpaper peeling off the walls, furniture is wobbly, a plastic bag was covering the fire alarm, the hair dryer is a fire hazard, carpets are dirty, the room was barely cleaned (found a chick. Bone on the ground beside the fridge, bottle cap in the corner, hair in the bath tub). Overall very disappointing.

Hotel worked well for a hockey tournament. No issues. Staff was friendly and the restaurant down below was convenient and had things for the kids to do such as pool tables.

Whole floor smells like smoke showerhead was taking them off, dirty, noisy unpleasant staff at desk

Food left over was from previous guest was left in refrigerator also a moldy liquid ( I guess milk ) was inside the coffee maker , also my room was so noisy, but bed was comfortable .

Hotel is dated a bit. Rooms floors have been changed but walls are poorly maintained. Stained on doors, wall, bathroom but not cleaned. Lot s of flys in the room

Nice to have an attached restaurant. Late check out was appreciated.

Close to shopping facilities and clean room!

The bed was comfy but while I understand the principle of not using individual shampoos etc not a fan of multi use bottles in washroom and shower was very slippery underfoot.

Nice clean quiet room.

We have stayed here before so I knew what to expect. It’s an older hotel and the only one in Renfrew. The staff are supper nice, the rooms on the other hand need repair and updating. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke but it was clean.

Knowing this was the only place to stay in Renfrew as not normally needed to stay in a hotel. Our only choice for one night. We walked in the back door and we felt like we were walking into halfway house smelt of cigarette smoke. There’s a man that came out in his jogging pants and socks for a cigarette, as we walked in, we were little confused of where we were and some lady came out and asked us if we needed help and showed me the way of the lobby. We stood there for a while at reception even rang the bell and waited about five minutes. The guy at the desk confirmed it was smoke-free hotel. we were given our room key and went to our room again smell like an ashtray. We got into our room and it was very rundown, carpet gross but the bed was surprisingly comfortable. But came with a lot of flies, I tried to get rid of them. When had activities to attend and returned around 10:30pm and there was a strong smell of marijuana but main entrance. I get it it’s legal, but really to have my daughter inhale that not cool . Heat was inconsistent in their room. It got overheated and then I had to get up in the middle of night to turn down . It was fine. I was not going fight. When it was time to get up I went into the bathroom to shower and again all I could smell cigarettes. Oh and no conditioner. After this I had my daughter get ready and we went to check out. I explained my concerns to the front desk. I was told that the manager to be told. I was also told to comment on Expedia.
