My room had a bugs crawling on the pillow. I have the video and I showed the manager. I sent him the video as well as his request. He said prior moving me from my room he will send a team to make a full room investigation to see if there are more. which was fine. No one ever came.
The next day I woke up with more bugs in my bed that I have squashed while sleeping.

The room we got was very old, the furniture had stains on it. The nightstand had white dried up stain on it that could easily be wiped off but wasn’t. The toilet doesn’t flush well. Water pressure very poor. This was on the 9th floor. Everything out side the room looked nice but the room felt like a motel. Then we upgraded to Gold room and it was much better. But the view from the hotel isn’t a good view since the location and not high rise. We had better views at the delta just down the street. It’s a dark place compared to the newer and modern hotels. But the gold upgrade with the additional $200 a night was lovely. Even the service was much better and staff were quicker with requests.

This is a high quality notable property. But I was seriously surprised and disappointed at the idea of charging a fee for WiFi access in the room in 2025. It was eventually refunded and that was appreciated but disappointed it was even an issue.

Area around had a few drug addicts to avoid.
Charging $16 a day for internet was a big negative, just did not bother, phone data is far cheaper.
The elevators operated with a card often did not work, not go all the way then back to lobby, some days 5 attempts to get to our floor, others had similar issues.
The detail in the rooms is impressive. All the staff we encountered were openly, friendly and helpful.

Poor nights sleep due to men in a nearby room shouting and laughing until after 4:30am. Advised reception on checkout but she appeared disinterested.
Free Wi-Fi should be standard, as should USB sockets in the room

We initially were lodge in an unrenovated room, which look delabrated and unclean. We requested to be upgraded and paid $100 for a luxury room. I expected more from Fairmont.

I was given a room that did not match the picture. It was an unrenovated room (though the picture showed a renovated one). The heating was poor and I had to request a portable heater in the middle of the night. The young woman who checked me in was rude and scoffed when I had asked for a nice room. To be fair, I was moved to a renovated room the next day (great room) and the rest of the staff at the hotel were superb.
