NovaStar Motel On The Lake

Tried to call multiple times to confirm my arrival time. No answer. Arrived around 7 pm. There was no lights in at the offiice. I used the ring buzzer. I was told my room number and the key was in it. The room was cold. Furniture in front of all the registers. No breakfast the next morning as stated in my reservation.

The suit was very rundown and dated. The radiators and the stove were rusty, the tub is mouldy. There was only one kitchen chair. There was only enough cutlery for one or two people. The kitchen cupboards were completely empty, no salt, pepper, oil, or anything else. No coffee machine. Lots of extension cords run around. Microwave blew a breaker and we lost 1/2 of the outlets. We were late arriving and they had just turned the heat on so it took a very long time to warm up. We booked two nights but left after the first night.

Nice place to stay

This is an older facility but it was comfortable and great for our family. We all enjoyed the walking trail behind the motel (trans canada trail, goes for miles and miles, and always dear on the trail) and the breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic property. Very friendly staff. Rooms have an upgraded look to them and are very clean Will absolutely stay there again when I am in the area.

This place was ok. You get what you pay for. We booked a kitchenette and it was nice but very old. Rusty heaters, fridge and oven. No AC. there was a fan and a tv and microwave. Only ONE kitchen chair which was very strange. Nothing fancy by any means but if you're looking for a cheap stay, this is just fine. Staff were very friendly! Free breakfast (toast, yogurt, apples, cereal, coffee. Nothing special but still good.)

Location was good with a comfortable bed. However, we didn't have wifi. They charged an $8 tax for the soap and shampoo. It's old and we had spiders inside and out.It's small; when you open the door it hits the bed and the bathroom door hits the other side of the bed.

Woke up 15 times due to the scratchy sheets. No real lock on door.

Simple access, gracious host and clean as a whistle room. There was difficulty getting tv to work, but handled by the staff quickly. (turned out to be batteries in one remote). Breakfast was simple but good. The lady in charge was a great host for our one night stay. I would stay again

20 years old, no ac, coffee pot but no coffee. Hot water goes in and out, shower knob to turn off hot water which turned ice cold could not be turned off, until plummer arrived to fix it.

Just plan awful. We checked in, walked into the room and decided to sleep in our car. Cobwebs, peeling paint, flimsy doors, no security, scary.

Checked in at 4:30 but room not ready till 6ish

Low key no frills comfort near The Cat Ferry terminal in Yarmouth. Shows its age with a few cracked floor tiles, but the room was quiet and comfy after a long drive and ferry trip.

Convenient location to get to ferry terminal in Yarmouth. Nothing walkable from hotel. Hotel is aging and run down. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our booking said check in was at 1pm but on arrival the hotel said check in was at 4pm.

I stayed at this motel one night, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the place was poorly maintained. The room was unbearably hot because there was no air conditioning, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep, especially my elderly dog who was panting the entire time. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi connection was practically nonexistent, which was incredibly frustrating as we couldn't connect to anything. The cleanliness of the room was appalling and the overall state of the room made us uncomfortable. We were so dissatisfied that we decided to check out a day early, even though we were refused a refund for the remaining night. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. This place is in desperate need of improvements, and until that happens, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. They had multiple guests leave early and they continue to rip people off who cannot see themselves staying any longer.

This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. The room was dirty, so was the bathroom. The broom was covered in spiderwebs. The stove was dirty and there were no dishes to cater to 4 people as advertised and even listed on a piece of paper inside the room. The kitchenette did not have knives or a coffee maker or frying pan. The fridge is leaking water and I had to clean it before I could use it. No dish towels or drying towels. There is no 24/7 front desk service. There is no AC in the room and the entire unit is contaminated with a mold smell, which caused us harm. The hot water is scolding and burns your skin if you don't be carful. The faucet does not keep it in lukewarm and switches to cold or scolding hot while showering. The floor is caving in as the structure is comprised. Safety issue! The view is to a gas tank and garbage cans. This hotel and the Lakelawn Motel are all owened by this Vietnamese Man and he does not care in the properties or their upkeep. Does not offer any refunds. Don't waste your money on either one of them.
