StFX University Summer Hotel

A very pleasant 4 night stay for a sporting event n the summer, beautiful University town perfect for vacationing with beaches at driving distances as well.

It was like staying at a brand new hotel. Everything new and clean and the college staff were outstanding and attentive

The college students who were the staff fair were so nice and helpful

Nice , clean place with little kitchenette in the room and even complete kitchen on every floor , very good stuff .... , but HORRIBLE , HORRIBLE bed - it is impossible to sleep on that kind of matters ( and it looks brand new ) .

I had a very good stay.

Not only were my neighbors screaming into the night, the noise of the elevator was constant all through every night. The bed was so uncomfortable that im still in pain a week later. I slept horribly the entire time i was there.

Room and stay was quite comfortable but the staff are inexperienced and not helpful. I forgot my car key at the front desk while checking in. The next morning when I enquired about it they denied having found the key and didn't even bother to check the front desk area or the lost and found. Later in the day I went back to the hotel travelling hours taking time from my vacation to check and they handed me the key and apologized and said someone found it last night. The morning staff could have saved hours of my time .

Great rates in a beautiful building. Comfortable beds, room included small kitchenette.

The hotel was nice, but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the room was freezing which was nice on the really hot days, but only one blanket made sleeping uncomfortable because we were freezing. I didn’t realize how far everything was from the hotel. Its great that it’s right on the STFX campus, but Walmart and superstore were a 30 minute walk away, so if you don’t have a vehicle like us it was quite challenging as we were there for a week. However Sobeys and some fast food restaurants were only about a 10-15 minute walk away which is much better, but we needed to get a sweater and some sweatpants from Walmart to compensate for the cold room. Expedia stated that there was a shared kitchen, but we weren’t able to find it so had to rely on microwaveable food and meals which really sucked and made for not so nice a stay. Would have been nice if there was at least a hot plate, but given that it is on a university campus, it makes sense that there isn’t one. The tv didn’t hook up to anything so we couldn’t watch anything which made the stay very boring. Overall, it did what was required, the staff was pleasant, the atmosphere was fine. If there was at least a thermostat in the room to control the temperature it would have be much more enjoyable. It was just so cold from the AC.

What a gorgeous place to stay while on vacation. Very low price, 125$. Would need to pay 225$ in big names places to get same quality. Highly recommend.
