Crowne Plaza QINGDAO, an IHG Hotel

Property is dated but service and location is amazing . Will be back in July and will be staying here again. I do hope one day they will renovate the hotel and bring in modern amenities

Nice property with good breakfast and lots to do. A bit old but we’ll managed and up kept. Good bang for your buck here

Stayed for four nights. First room smelled like smoke. Informed front desk and was provided a new room which smelled equally bad. Was then informed that there were no other rooms available. I suspect it is their whole ventilation system which circulates air with smoking rooms. Air conditioning worked but was extremely underwhelming. Overall, hotel condition reflects its age which is not flattering.

The property dosent have Wifi for foreigners and hygiene issues

Hotel staff were friendly but there was a lack of English spoken which made moving around the hotel difficult and had to resort to a translation app. The front desk staff helped me out with a lot of things as it is hard to communicate and they were kind and supportive.

Property needs repairs. Plumbing piping smell in the bathroom. Shower walls need improvement. Very poor lighting in all areas, bedroom, bathroom. Sofa needs to be replaced. Windows need to be cleaned.

the traffic getting to the centre of Qingdao is very bad, but if it where you need t be then this hotel is very well positioned and is a great choice.

The reception upgraded us to a suite and we are grateful for the extra mile. Though the hotel is dated and needs some renovations, we are glad that the suite is comfortable and the beddings / towels / pillows are relatively new and well maintained. The tables and drawers / bathroom tiles clearly need some refurbishing.

Have stayed here previously and like the location, as there is a very good pub over the road with nice food. It is also right by the metro station.

The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, comfortable and in a wonderful and perfect location. The problem lies in the staff and the weird hotel policies. You need a swim cap to swim in the hotel pool, which is 1. Unnecessary, 2. A bit backwards considering that’s not how you keep a chlorinated pool clean, and 3. A luxury ruiner. I found that very stupid and therefore offensive to my trip, to be honest. Additionally, I understand that I should be speaking Chinese in China, so that’s on me; but when I asked two front desk staff members about the pool opening and closing times, they couldn’t answer me in any language. I guessed several different times in attempt to get an answer, and they responded “yes” to each of the different times that I asked about. Also, when arriving, people cut the check in line in front of me and the hotel staff happily helped them despite seeing us standing right there directly behind them. Again, stupid and offensive, and a luxury ruiner. Despite the backwards policies and the poorly trained and inconsiderate staff, the hotel itself is absolutely fabulous, no joke. Also, the ayis cleaning our rooms were super sweet and did such a great job. They asked us as we arrived “so you need any help” like man, how sweet, and what good service.

The hotel is fairly old. Location is pretty good with metro and shops close by.

Overall was good to stay & close to subway station, but wifi was not fast speed to proceed big size of file.

Great location and helpful staff. The only disappointing aspect was not being able to use the pool as they required a swimming cap which i did not have. One could be purchased but it would have been better if this requirement was specified upfront.
