Vienna Hotel (Chengdu Pearl River Plaza)

Prior to our stay we wrote back and forth to the Hotel Reception, receiving immediate and informative responses answering all our questions. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade (as we had booked via the hotel website directly) to a wonderful room with a whirlpool. Our stay was excellent, the staff kind and very friendly, as well as very well informed regarding the best restaurants and activities in the city. We will be back for another stay at the Donauwalzer

There is a lot to like about the Boutique hotel Donuawalzer and I wanted to give it a higher rating but there were a few issues. For transparency I stayed in one of their single rooms which in hindsight was not a great call. The room itself is perfectly adequate but very very small. Great shower, digital radio etc. the coffee machine is a bit temperamental and I think it would be easier to just have a kettle on the room. The biggest issue was the single bed, it was definitely on the small side but the issue becomes more problematic as it is set against the wall. This limits your movement on one side of the bed which does disrupt the sleep. Also the base is an elevated wooden structure that I'm probably more used to seeing on beds for children. It does create hard contact points which are not comfortable. Soundproofing in the room could be better and there is a lot of noise coming from heating and extractor vents. On the plus side, great breakfast, items are listed for dietary requirements which is helpful. Would have preferred a wider hot selection but the breakfast generally is good quality. Location is convenient for the metro and team, it's in a further out part of the city. If I did come back I'd definitely go for a double room but hope the hotel can make things a bit more comfortable for single travellers.

We were very well looked after and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast has a wide selection of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free foods. The rooms are unique and very well laid out. Transport links are ideal with tram and train lines on your doorstep. Highly recommend

A very nice, classy viennese hotel closed to the metro but also within walking distance to the centre. Our room was facing the garden and was really quiet. Lovely decorated with a spacious bathroom. Personally, the highlight of our stay was their incredible breakfast - so many options and also quite a few vegan ones (falafel, hummus, chia seeds, ratatouille, tofu - you name it!). There was even live music once at the breakfast that made it feel very special. Last but not least, the staff is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, quiet room for a great price. Even though the room didn't have a kettle which we hoped for, we were pleasantly surprised by one thing I've never seen in any other hotel room – a yoga mat! Upon our (last minute) reservation, there was some miscommunication, and the room was not properly cleaned when we first entered it, but the staff promptly resolved the situation by giving us another (better) room. Staff was very professional and helpful. Breakfast was great!
