Borinquen Thermal Resort

The road to the location is the only drawback because it's a very rough dirt road, but once you get to the resort, from the moment you arrive, you are treated like royalty! The location looks just like all the pictures and better! The landscaping was perfect. The food and restaurant location and ambiance were great. The hospitality was above any expectation. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The resort spa, thermal baths, pool, and grounds were amazing. The diversity of wildlife throughout was a spectacle to the eyes and ears. I would love to go back!

PLEASE go to this resort! We visited this resort on a whim while exploring Costa Rica. The property is absolutely beautiful, tranquil and off the beaten bath but with all of the modern amenities. The best part of this resort is the staff. Hands down. Every single person was genuinely happy to work at the resort and help us with anything. They made the experience magical. The geothermal pools and volcanic mud were amazingly unique and well kept! We had the pleasure of having a couples massage which was absolutely the best massage I have had anywhere in the world. Additionally, we went Ziplining and had so much fun! We got the absolute pleasure of staying at this resort. We feel like we hit the lottery of life. Thank you for having us.

My wife and I had a really good experience here. We were reserved two nights, but it was so great we spent a third. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spacious. But what really took it over the top for us was the Hot Springs area. We were the only people there every time we went. You do not need a four-wheel-drive to get here. A Toyota Corolla can make it just fine.

We visited over a weekend in the off season and one night had the resort to ourselves. It is fantastic and beautiful, one of the most beautiful places we have ever been and we have been nearly everywhere. Our junior suite was humongous and I loved that I could sit either inside or outside directly under the trees which were full of wildlife. The staff are terrific, friendly and helpful. What could improve? The facility has several small things that need a capital injection like missing boards in seats, mismatched light bulbs and a blocked off exterior stairway that needs serious cleaning. A number of items were not available from the menu during the off season despite only having one of the three restaurants open to begin. Finally, the spa process were incredibly high, perhaps double the high prices in the US. Take heart that a discount is available for the asking though.

The hotel is great, the hot spring area is a wonderful way to spend the day and there is interesting wildlife around to watch. The bungalows are really nice, the staff are very friendly. We did the zip lining and had a great time, the staff were brilliant. The spa is way overpriced so we didn't use that. My only complaint is the restaurant and bar is often out of stock of many items. Every other thing we tried to order they didn't have. The staff didn't seem to know what wines were available and they don't have most of what's on the wine list. Better management of this area would be expected for such a hotel. Breakfast was very good.
