This hotel is in a very unique location along the Nile, close to some museums and central. But the area it resides within is very old and nearly impossible to navigate on foot with the traffic patterns. It seems the group of larger hotels along the river to the north would be better suited for getting out and exploring, but still, Intercontinental Semiramis has an outstanding breakfast, a lot of restaurant choices, a really nice pool, and well-trained and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

A 7 star hotel. I love this hotel. It's perfect. Gorgeous, enormous rooms with stunning views. You can walk downtown or to Zamalek or Giza or the museum. You can buy a SIM card at the desk. 6 international restaurants -- but best of all is the Grill restaurant which is so elegant with the perfect view of the Nile and exceptional food. Best restaurant in Cairo. All of the staff in the hotel are so professional and made everything a breeze. You feel like you are at the beating heart of the city. The world comes and goes. Magical.

This is my go-to hotel in Cairo. First stay was 25 years ago.
Reasonably good in facilities and location.
Breakfast is good and some waiter at the breakfast ie. Mr. Bassem is very attentive.
My next stay is going to be at the 6th October though.

Overall the hotel was lovely, it is in an ideal location - and the staff were super helpful and lovely. However the noise at night was terrible, We didn’t sleep well at all which impacted our trip and caused cancellations of trips we had planned first thing in the morning. Unfortunately this made the stay in the hotel a miserable one.

Pros: Great restaurant options. Housekeeper cleaned the rooms well. Nice view. Servers at the upscale restaurants were very welcoming and professional. Concierge was nice. Effective security. Lobby area is modern and clean. Conveniently located.
Cons: hotel smells like cigarettes, even in the nonsmoking area. They place ashtrays by the elevators and other nonsmoking areas like they cater to smokers only. Our room smelled like smoked even though we requested nonsmoking but we dealt with it. We eventually had to switch rooms because staff were painting in the hallway and the paint smell was too strong. The staff were nice enough to switch our room on a higher floor where there was no painting taken place. The rooms looked outdated. Every restaurant you go to they ask for a review and staff stands next to you until you do it. This is why there's so many good reviews on here. The breakfast was basic at best, not enough selection of food. The breakfast servers were not welcoming or friendly. They were arguing with each other in front of guests, very unprofessional.
