Albright Hussey Manor

Lovely hotel. Parking easy. Really quiet. Easy access to the town. Stayed for 3 nights. One day my room wasn’t cleaned despite the sign I left on the door. TV a bit small. Internet access good. Overall I can recommend the hotel and I would stay again.

Disappointing that wifi was dropping in and out so couldn’t work and had to watch the tv, which was the size of a postage stamp....

We were very pleased with the accommodation and the meal at night (sharing platter) was second to none. We will definitely be staying here again

I was at a 2 day event at Sleap airfield so the hotel was only 10mins away got a good deal so was not expecting a great room but I was very impressed.

Limited dining choices however this is explained on the website. Great room very comfy. Great for business stayovers.

Nice superior room. WiFi very poor bandwidth when I urgently needed to use it for business. Bar decent. Friendly and helpful staff.

Staff very nice especially at breakfast. The room although very clean was very dated. The Manor was definitely needing some TLC too.

Beautiful old hotel in the countryside. Surrounded by fields and a lovely walk to Battlefield farm shop. Very close to Shrewsbury town centre. We parked at Battlefield park and ride which was really convenient. Stayed at the hotel for a private party. Function tool was lovely.

Definitely not deserving of 4 star rating- this hotel is desperate for an upgrade. The TV is tiny and had very poor channel choices. The driveway gives a good impression then you are completely let down. Everything needs review and upgrade.

Okay, so Shrewsbury is not the easiest place to stay on a budget. At the time of booking perversely, the Albright Hussey was over a hundred pounds cheaper over the two nights than a Premier Inn or Travelshed. The room i was is was quirky, there were 2 single beds and the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom. Getting back late in tge evening, the main room lightswitch is at the bottom of the stairs that go up to the bedroom, when you get upstairs, theres no switch to turn off the main light, so you have to go back down the stairs, turn off the light, then use the torch function to go back up to bed. The towel rail fell off the wall in the bathroom, (Wrong rawlplugs for a plasterboard wall and too short screws) and the foot fell off the corby trouser press when i moved it to get the to the plugs behind. The bathroom was straight out of Versaille. As i say, quirky.

Lovely place, very friendly staff, very clean, loads of hot water and nice coffee/tea facilities in room and good range of bathroom products. Falls down on not always being able to serve guests with dinner due to functions being held there and breakfast is only served and full breakfast at weekends, otherwise it’s a help yourself continental.

Old building but expensive for what it is. Restaurant is very nice but the standard of catering is very poor. You have to book food before you arrive from a very basic and simple menu. More a BnB than a rated hotel.
