I always like staying at Aztec. I’m not keen on the area round the hotel but have no need to go exploring. The hotel is comfortable and generally very clean. My kids love the pool and the food is good.

This was the third time we had stayed at the Aztec and we had a fantastic experience. I booked the stay for my wife’s birthday which included the additional access to the spa and a massage. We also booked dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. My wife has very specific dietary requirements and these were all catered for by the Aztec’s wonderful staff. A special thank you to Lucy who looked after our table for our evening meal. She had carefully picked out the dishes which my wife could eat and made suggestions. This personal touch really made our evening. Lucy also presented us with a selection of gluten free cakes after the meal as a little treat for Liz’s birthday, which we were both really taken aback by. So thank you Aztec for making it such a special weekend getaway. Lots of hotels do not pay attention to the little details - the Aztecs staff most definitely did. We will most definitely be returning.

From arrival to departure we couldnt fault the hotel, staff or facilities. Staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much bother. The hotel is meticulously clean. Unfortunately we didnt have time to use the pool or spa facilities, however they were visible on route to our room and they appeared to be of the same standard as the rest of the hotel. Upon entry into the room we were greated by a lovely Christmas set up for the kids. There was Christmas themed plates and cups with a cookie each, and themed paper for a letter to Santa to be written. There were also Christmas themed gift bags with activites. In the fridge was also juice cartoons and KP Choc Dips. For the adults there was a variety of coffee, coffee pods, teas, hot chocolate and biscuits. Also laid out on the childrens beds were little bathroom gift sets. The rooms are modern and the beds comfortable. There are jugs in the fridge with water and milk dispensers located along the corridor. Breakfast was fantastic with a relatively large variety on offer. This will definitely be a hotel we'll be revisiting next time we're in the Bristol area.

The Hotel has too many rooms for the capacity of facilities and staff. They do not declare on website that the spa has Childrens and family specials where the hotel is overrun by hyperactive kids chasing barking dogs up and down corridors and screaming around. The restaurant was fully booked the reception lady told me the bar area has food and seating, however it was totally fully booked and no space. Room service never answered the phone for 3.5 hours. Although the Lady on reception was very Polite, I was sold the spa and pool access, but it was unusable due to the kids / family specials block bookings and no availability in spa for 2 days, sold a lemon. The Hotel need to build capacity to cope with the rooms they sell and actually provide basic services like food etc. I would suggest calling ahead to check if a family kids special day. could be very tranquil on a quiet day maybe.

The restaurant was full and we couldn't get a table. Our room was not cleaned on day 2, no new towels, no tea or coffee. There was no new toilet roll and we had to get this from reception. 4 star hotel but one star service.

We stay every year as part of our Christmas shopping weekend and nothing really changes. It’s a good quality hotel, with great rooms & good amenities. The local is good but there is nothing else around so you’re in it with them in terms of food etc which is a little pricey. I think breakfast could be better.

The hotel was lovely, service was good and reception was helpful. The rooms were clean, however our room did smell of smoke when we first arrived. The bar staff were very friendly and food was great.

The spa didn’t have a proper cold shower or cold water to cool down after the sauna, which is really bad. The mattresses were the worst I’ve seen since I was travelling around youth hostels when I was young. Really bad for this kind of hotel to have those soft and deformed mattresses. The bathroom was very very old, specially the shower. The breakfast was quite good.

1 night stay as working locally. Staff were all excellent, friendly but very professional. Room was clean, well equipped, quiet and comfortable but perhaps needing a little tlc, particularly the bathroom. Restaurant was well run, with good menu, meals (dinner and breakfast) were presented nicely and very enjoyable. Overall a good option, only niggle was additional charge to use the gym/spa (so didnt use!).

What a fantastic stay. Warm welcome by reception, a post card in bedroom saying happy birthday. Clean spa facilities. Steam very hot which was really nice. A robe was in wardrobe, however another one wasn’t in there so we asked reception and someone bought us one up very fast. Breakfast tasty. Bed comfortable. Quiet hotel room with no noise. Chocolate and tea/coffee in room. We loved it here and can honestly not fault one part of it. We also had great communication with staff prior to stay to remind us of any hidden fees etc for spa if we haven’t yet booked it which we already did. Thank you !!

My "signature" room (number 246) was anything but... Whilst I can live with how outdated it was (and it was)... the sofa was torn and had stains on it that I dare not guess the origin of! The curtains where hanging off in areas... To some this may seem a little picky, however, its a spa, a place where you can relax and spend time to wind down.... and as such it has standards that should be achieved and surpassed! PS: This was my 6th stay this year alone so I am in a position to judge.

Nice hotel, and only £3 parking for residents is good. Shame you have to pay £15 to go for a swim in the spa, this should be included in the overnight stay price.

Best hotel around The Wave Bristol. The only downside is that the kitchen closes at 8:45pm, so watch out if you were to surf evening waves (e.g.: 7pm session) as you may not be back at the hotel in time

Really enjoyed our night here. There was a queue for check in on arrival but it was made better by a complimentary glass of fizz and juice for the children! Pool itself was wonderful aside from the ridiculously rowdy group who spoilt it for us. Kit in the room was ok although we had no bathrobes as promised. Breakfast really great. Buffet cereal, pastries, fruit, juice. Then hot good cooked to order and served at the table. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!
