We really enjoyed our stay at the Adelphi. The location was perfect and with the added extra of hotel parking it really was great. The room was a little dated but spotlessly clean. We will be returning in a fortnights time for sure.

I would remove this property from hotels.com as I booked via the platform trusting it was a safe vetted hotel but was horrified on arrival and did not feel safe or pleased with the "hotel"

Location is perfect! Can’t beat the convenience of the hotel. But staff was strange and at night the security stood around in a group of 3-5 like some sort of mafia bit did nothing as I was getting harassed by a homeless man right in front of them. Hotel is old but spacious rooms and beds were clean. They are going through room renovations - so may have to deal with the slight renovation mess and noise.

I checked in and the receptionist did not explain where the bar or restaurant was. I had paid extra for breakfast £12 per day. But the receptionist twice said I had a free breakfast with my stay.The whole hotel is dated but starting to undergo refurbishment of the rooms. The room was clean albeit the carpet was stained. The water took about 5 mins to warm up and on the second day only got like warm. Breakfast was terrible for me. I only drink herbal tea as I don’t drink milk. There was no alternative to breakfast tea or coffee. There was no alternative to dairy milk. Not even an offer of buying a £1 carton for me. There was no vegetarian non dairy option on offer. I did not eat there the second day and asked for my breakfast order to be cancelled. I would not stay again.

We loved the grandeur of the public areas. Also our triple single room was huge. Beds were comfortable. Shower was clean and hot. Curtain in bathroom needed sorting as when you sat on the look you could see over to other bedrooms through non-frosted windows! A mirror in the main bedroom would be helpful. The main issue we had was that all through the night there was a fairly regular sound like a small aircraft taking off (heating/air-con system?). We only had one set of ear plugs between the 3 of us!

Entrance to hotel grubby and unkempt! Desk person didn’t want to know and could not answer my question about car park. Room not as expected very old and dated no heater in the room where single bed was. Sign said 2 cocktails for a given price we tried to order 2 different ones but was told they had to be the same ridiculous just a con!! Seemed to be e few people with issues at the desk when I was booking in from room keys not working to wanting to change rooms. Very let down expected better looking at the main room once in hotel with chandeliers etc. Needs massive input of money and dragging into reality

Every where was clean but around the doors of the escalators were dirty. The rotating front door should be opened. It would be a lovely enterance to the hotel. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel needs some tlc.

Disgraceful hotel. The tap of the hot water was broken. It’s impossible sleep on the bad. No air conditioning beside a small fan that barely does anything.you cannot open the windows and everything looks old and dusty. We paid 199 £ that are way better hotels with a cheaper price.

The Hotel internet was non existant, I refused to work or even allow me to connect with either my phone or my laptop. I reported it to be told as laptops are seen as unsafe, its designed to not allow a laptop to connect, eh? What does a business travel then do? I was there on business and got zero work done due to this problem, waste of money and travelling time.
