The service from the recetionist to the bar and canteen staff was amazing, 10/10 in fact, the hotel is very up to date, clean and extremely posh, spa area outstanding and the rooms were huge, food was also a 10, breakfast especially, i will be back and i will be held to this as my kids will not stop askimg me to re book aleady, thankyou all x

Staff are professional, considerate and welcoming. Breakfast abd restaurant was good. Rooms are a bit outdated . Overall a good stay and we enjoyed the spa facilities which open ftom 6 AM - 11PM. Very good location to visit main tourist attractions by hoping onto bus just outside hotel and in city10 mins later. We would come back.

The first room we were given (room 18) had an awful smell of damp and cigarettes. It also had a huge industrial blower running in it. We went back to reception to be told we should never have been given the room as it was out if service. The next room was clean but does need a little updating. Definitely need new pillows and a thicker quilt. All the staff were friendly and approachable, and breakfast was great with the usual selection of cooked foods, cereal,fruit,toast, and tea and coffee. It is in a great location, and an Uber only costs five pounds to get into York centre.

lovely hotel, fabulous room, very good of the hotel to do us a free upgrade, however of an evening (and we stayed in January) it was very cold and they didn't seem to be able to turn up the heating,.

Both me and my wife enjoyed our stay, it was a welcoming place, with friendly staff. The bed was large and comfy but we felt the room could do with a update! But overall the experience was a good one. The buffet breakfast was a good selection and was appreciated both mornings

Awful. Had to change rooms on arrival as the room we were given looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the last guest. We Booked two nights and left after the first night because none of us had slept. Rooms were not clean enough. Noise from rooms above could hear everything going on up there and every time they used the bathroom noisy pipes. Bedding was dirty. Pubic hair everywhere in the bathroom and within the bedding when we pulled the quilt back to get in bed after a long day of travelling we were greeted by pubic hair and stains. Disgusting. Room dusty coughing all night it was so dusty. Beds weren’t comfy too soft and pillows and bedding too thin. Literally not one of us slept. Bathroom old and tired and so was the pool area which was so busy and small. Only thing that we can say positive was the breakfast was good.

Nice hotel situated right behind the race track and only a 3-minute drive or 20 min walk into York centre. Food was good in the restaurant and for breakfast.
Only negatives I would say are that the pool is absolutely tiny. You can’t actually swim in it and if there’s 3 people it’s already overcrowded. The pool/gym changing rooms need a bit of tlc and ideally a refurb: lockers broken, shower door locks broken and hooks loose on the walls. The gym is small but has everything you would need.
Overall, good stay and would definitely stay there again.

We had a nice stay. We had a family room which was spacious altho a bit dated. We were also situated next door to a family with babies who were awake during the night so our sleep was interrupted which was frustrating. The beds were also very soft. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the pool was enjoyable.

I enjoyed my stay the only issues i found was i didnt like how there was dirt & grit in the hot tub and in the restaurant i ordered the tikka curry the chicken was nice and soft but was quite bland for a curry and the naan bread was hard and crispy not worth what i payed i thought

Good hotel for the younger generations on Stag doos, party trips or the races but only average if youre with a elderly disabled relative like i was witj my Dad. Quite a few steps and awkard around the Bar/restaurant area and the outside decking area with a wheelchair and frame. A few ramps and better setting of furniture would make it more wheelchair friendly. The app said the room had a accesible bathroom - Grab rails etc when there was nothing of the sort and a walk in shower would of been ideal too but no. Was put right at the other side of the hotel too. Long shuttles to and from the Car moving bags, wheelchair and a severely disabled father. Only two Disabled parking bays also so they are definitely not aiming for disabled guests.

Nicely out of the centre and yet within walking distance of supermarket and lovely country pubs. Fairly close to park and ride making trips to the centre easy. Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff in all areas. Would recommend.
