Breakfast better than most.

Check in was delayed by 1hr 20 mins room wasn't ready. Couldnt eat in the restaurant as there was a function and bar food stopped serving at 6:30. No plates or mugs at breakfast

Beautiful place to stay. I have stayed here for years but this time has been a whole new experience. Only book your breakfast on room service if you can gamble not getting it. When I complained I did get it the next day but no refund or customer service. They didn’t care.

Ok hotel for short visits

Room was ok, shower was useless and breakfast was terrible. Scrambled eggs look like runny porridge how they think anyone would eat that i don't know. Bos load of coach trippers were in at the same time as us and not one single person went near the eggs . 1 coffee and tea machine so big Qs , food run and out and had too hang around for more. Gym and the pool were good but would not rush back.

Food was really good, staff and service other than first day when checked in was good. Room I checked in first was broken down - ac was making noise, bath plug was stuck and it could not come out, staff didn’t come to check waited for an hour. Then went downstairs and was moved to another room which was much nicer.

There is ample parking on site and guests need to check in their vehicle reg at reception or you will be fined. Check in was very quick and the lady on reception was very helpful. The reception area / foyer looks upmarket. The rooms are dated and basic but were spacious and clean with everything you needed. Both rooms had balconies however we were umable to use them as they were undergoing repairs. The bathrooms have shower gel, hand wash and body wash all provided. The water is extremely hot (there are warning signs) and of a could water pressure. We didn't use the spa facilities but they looked good. We were given the option to add extras/upgrades at a discounted price prior to arrival however we decided against it. We changed our mind about breakfast so unfortunately didn't benefit from the £10 offer so paid £14.95 on the day. The staff in the restaurant were again incredibly polite and efficient but the food and drink was poor. The juices were all very watery and not drinkable. The hot food selection was cheap (somewhat understandable with it being an unlimited buffet) and over cooked. I also found a hair in one of my eggs. The HP sauces were all on their last dregs and needed throwing away. The waiting staff were attentive good at replacing food which was nearly empty and removing used plates etc once finished. The breakfast really let the stay down and if we hadn't had it, I would have given it 5*

Just a day and night stay. Overall a nice relaxing stay

Well after a very restful night and feeling fresh i was very disappointed in breakfast the orange juice and apple juice was watered down i presume for it to go a longer way having said that it tasted disgusting. On my next stay i will not be having breakfast

Nice stay. Staff excellent

This is a return visit as we often stay when visiting family in the area. This makes the hotel very convenient for us. It is a bonus that the breakfast is good, with plenty of options and that there is a gym and pool to use if we want to. There are also nearby places to run outside. Our room was clean and had everything that we needed although the decor was a little tired in places. The staff are always hard working, very friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay again.

Comfortable clean hotel, modernisation required.

Our stay was not at all what we was expecting, the food was inedible the first night so we had to travel out for breakfast lunch and dinner every day after, our bed was so uncomfortable due to feeling every spring and my partners back completely seized up and she was in agony which we reported. We also had a half drunk bottle of water in our room when we first arrived and there was the same rubbish in the lift for four days! Only one lift out of three was working during our entire stay. On the Sunday the only bar in the hotel was closed all day so couldn’t get any drinks. The remote control in our room was filthy dirty and sticky and the ashtrays in front entrance were overflowing for our entire stay. This was supposed to be a romantic weekend away and ended up being a nightmare we could not wait to get out of

Unique foyer area open up across multiple floors. Rooms slightly tired as is normal for a building of this age. Everything clean & comfortable though.

We arrived quite late but were greeted by the lovely man on the desk who was extremely helpful and happy (considering it was late at night). The room was a family room with a king bed and two singles, handy as my sons are 'young adults'. No windows in the room but this wasn't a problem as we had Velux windows (and it was late at night), but in the morning plenty of light when the blinds were opened. The room was adequate for what we wanted including tea and coffee facilities and also bottled water, which was appreciated, along with the biscuits. We slept very well and the bed were extremely comfortable, so much so that we had a lie in the next morning so didn't really see much of the facilities the hotel had to offer.
