Hotel room was ok but cold at night. Restaurant called Fairway is a rip off. Extremely expensive. I had a small chicken with oven chips which cost £30. Chicken had almost no meat on it. My colleague had a lamb burger and paid £24.00. Substandard portions with average quality whichis poor value for money Would i stay here again, no.

Bedroom relaxing, beautiful furniture. Well looked after. Nice ale on tap in bars and comfortable seating in bar and restaurant. Deer are in quieter part of grounds and some beautiful trees. (Hiking boots or wellingtons would be useful) A golf course all around the hotel. Lovely choice at breakfast, the hot selection well cooked. Staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Not very busy on a cold January day. Not crowded at the pool or at breakfast. Good breakfast.

The property itself is well kept, clean and welcoming. Rooms were lovely and comfortable, bathrooms were clean and towels nice. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices. The only down fall is that the spa and pool really need an upgrade. There were towels left in the changing rooms, hair on the walls and floors and it just felt grimey.

Its a few years since we last used this hotel and the reasons we found alternative hotels for the last few years soon became apparent. Food is poor both in quality and choice with service in the restaurant slightly better than this but still not great. Breakfast is very poor value unless you want a full cooked breakfast with all the trimmings, £18.50!!! I should have challenged that one for a bowl of cereal and a pastry that had seen better days. Rooms are fine and staff on the whole helpful but the bar was tired and in need of updating as are most of the communal areas. What was once an impressive hotel is now a shadow of its former self. Beautiful setting but we wont be returning in a hurry,

The staff are fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. A problem with my in room safe was resolved quickly. 2 errors on my bill were correctly immediately. I was disappointed with breakfast. My room service breakfast on my first night was cold. Day 2 I went to the restaurant hoping for better. Again disappointing. Everything was cold, not warm, cold. The quality of the cooked breakfast was very poor. Cheapest sausages and undercooked back bacon. I’d recommend packing an extension lead. I had one available plug socket for everything. No charging point next to the bed.

One of the dirtiest hotel rooms I've been in for a while. We told front desk and they did nothing. Rooms had no water and were dated. Restaurant was overpriced. Pool was good, but Jacuzzis were out of order. Just overall felt really rundown and not cared for

Room was comfortable and leisure facilities ok but dated and in need of TLC. The food was very very poor, both for dinner and breakfast and massively overpriced. £££ for fish and chips which consisted of Coley, oven chips and watery ‘shredded peas’ plus £££ for ribeye steak 10oz is a complete rip off - that equates to sixty per kilo. Hotel automatically adds on 12:5% service charge (even though I ordered at the bar) which when I questioned, refused to remove, explaining it was automatically added and couldn’t be removed, I persisted so they still made me pay it but gave me a can of Guinness for no charge in ‘compensation’ . The breakfast was meagre, cooked options available (overly greasy) and the bread available was basic sliced pan brown & white, no rolls or artisan bread selection. Pastries and muffins were awful, like the cheapest kind you get in a basic supermarket. In short it’s as CHEAP AS POSSIBLE £!@! for a 440ml can of 0% Guinness is a joke! They had draft pumps for Heineken 0% but it wasn’t working and they couldn’t use the draft charger for Guinness as it takes the larger cans and they only were stocking the 440ml variant. Whilst the bar man was pouring my 0% Guinness, the waitress (standing customer side of the bar) asked in a sarcastic and mocking way ‘who is having nil perfect beer lol’ without realising it was me standing next to her. The barman indicated sheepishly it was me and she hiccuped ‘oops I didn’t realise’ How insensitive!!!!!!

Hotel was ok. Very bad experience as on check in I was informed that due to staff shortages the swimming pool is closed and I was shocked as 1 days went to waste. Also pool staff did not provide towels for each day I went for swimming
