Holiday Inn Express MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE - ARENA, an IHG Hotel

Everything about my experience in Manchester was brilliant

I stayed here with my two year old. Unfortunately when we arrived there was no heating in the room, the lamp was hanging off the wall and the safe wasn’t working. There was an electric heater in the room but nowhere to plug it in that would not be between where we were sleeping and the door so we would have been trapped in event of a fire. We spent an uncomfortable night and my little girl barely slept because of the cold. I let the staff know the next morning and the lady did not apologise and just stared at me. She clearly wasn’t listening as I had to repeat the list a second time so she could write it down. We went out, came back and the heating was still not on - she had not updated us. I had to complain again to a different member of staff and finally got a change of room and an apology. The fact the electric heater was there and the wording of the second staff member “I’ll put you in a warmer room” made it seem that they knew that the room was unacceptably cold and they put a two year old in there anyway. I won’t be going back.

We had a fabulous stay . The hotel was very clean and they were so welcoming. Avi, Steph and Tony were so lovely. They were helpful and kind. And the breakfast was wonderful. !

Booking hotel was easy and straightforward. Bsthrooms were lovely. Beds a little soft for my liking but were ok. Clean. However when it came to booking the off site parking recommended this was really difficult. Each time i tried to book 24hr parking, it kept saying there wasnt any spaces despite the website showing spaces. I rang the hotel to query as using the hotel a discount was offered, which again o couldnt use. Hotel stayed there was an issue but offered no alternative. Ended up paying full price for parking. No compensation offered by hotel when i arrived. Disappointing. Overall stay was good.

All that was required. Breakfast was included - however there was nowhere to sit - overcrowded on both mornings.

Many positives about the hotel - comfortable bed, great shower, good size room, easy check-in, nice breakfast. Unfortunately, the hotel could use an update. There was a large stain on the small sofa in our room, there were stains on the hallway carpets, the chairs in the breakfast area were worn and stained, the one elevator was missing the button to push, and the iron we borrowed was unsafe with the plug being broken. It was nice enough to book again but I'd probably look around a bit and see what else was available.

Check in was very slow. Not slick and professional. Room very adequate and clean. Well equipped

Staff were efficient and really helpful.

Perfect stay for a weekend in the city

Check-in was really easy found the room no problem. The room was neat and tidy there was a few stains one on the chair,a few on the wall beside the bed l. On in the bathroom sink area which makes it look like it hasn't been cleaned. The hairdryer didn't work asked at reception if we could get a replacement but that didn't happen. Breakfast was ok standard buffet style.

Everything was good. I just wished it had a mini fridge and a small microwave to heat up leftovers.

Perfect stay-over for the A0, really nice hotel at good value comapred to its neighbours. Clean room, although compact, nice bathroom, clean, breaky included, good check-in, car parks handy. Would re-book.

Very average hotel solod 3 star. Room basic, nothing too bad. Bedding is thin. Bathroom was ok.

My room was changed to disable rooms , breakfast cold and pancake machine broken

Ideally situated for our purpose, printworks, arndale centre , ao arena all close by, parking near.

For a modern hotel rather poor All we could hear all night was water running down the stack… makes you want the loo In the room shower tray broken and full of hair so wouldn’t drain, toilet seat wouldn’t stay up Organisationally inept with complete mismanagement of breakfast - employee some staff, stick some signs up, resign the layout urgently and bin the wonky tables Whoever was responsible for designing it should be sacked

Very clean and comfortable and very tasty breakfast excellent value for money

Really good value and excellent breakfast. Attended concert at Band on the wall and the hotel is about a 2 min walk from there. Would stay again
