Holiday Inn WINCHESTER, an IHG Hotel

Unfortunately some of the spa facilities weren’t working . I was told after I paid . The the room was very hot . The service was amazing and so was the food . Rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Pretty disappointing stay, having booked the suite for a birthday treat , the heating did not work , and the room was uncomfortably cold on arrival and had to request additional portable heaters to get the temperature up. We were offered an alternative room but having paid for the suite we stuck it out with blow heaters and an oil radiator to try and enjoy the suite amenities. Unfortunately the bathroom was not heated , nor did it have a heated towel radiator or any means to inject warmth so was exceptionally uncomfortable using for toilet or shower . It seems it was a known problem with heating as there were additional heating sources in the wardrobe. The receptionist trying to sort the problem was very apologetic and helpful , and gave a couple of drinks vouchers for the bar. Had the heating been on would have been a great treat but -4 outside meant it was not as planned. Breakfast unfortunately followed suit - and was very cool to eat - the lamps keeping it warm were touchable !!! Chef did offer fresh options to his credit , but only certain items were done . Luckily the spa was toasty and warm and lovely service . Maybe we hit a bit of bad luck but I would hope the suite gets some attention and fixed. Up or others will be disappointed. - only 1 suite @ hotel - room 333 .

Great 2 night stay with the wife, lovely breakfast and service. The omelettes are the best I’ve ever tasted (cooked by Chris, who was very friendly too) Sharon was very chatty and helpful. Highly recommended!

Would suggest a choice of pillows. The lovely ones provided but too large for guests who like a Shallow pillow. I ended up using the folded bath sheet to be comfortable . Having said that, the bed was really comfy.

Lovely hotel with a cosy ambience and great customer service. Clean and spacious twin room. Easy to get in and our of Winchester centre - thoroughly enjoyable stay - would return and would highly recommend!

Stayed for a sporting event. Room was good but quite warm. Evening restaurant service was slow beyond words. Morning breakfast staff were friendly and efficient and opened early due to the number of competitors staying. Clearly had a recent refresh and first impression very impactful

Nothing bad to say about this hotel. The staff were lovely. The hotel has great facilities but we didn't make use of them this time round due to other plans in the city which is just a few minutes away by cab. Would happily stay again and enjoy the spa and restaurant. Rooms were also very pleasant with some nice compliments. Thank you to all at Voco.

Really nice hotel, obviously recently refurbished which meant there was a really lovely restaurant, bar and lobby. However the bedroom and en-suite didn’t have quite as much attention to detail. Overall it was perfect for our family to stay in on our trip to Marwell zoo and Paultons Park

I had a wheel in bed and it wasn’t very comfortable. I expected two proper beds. I learned for the first time, that I don’t get IHG points unless booked direct. Companies should tell people. I heard by default as I asked if points are automatically added. I didn’t expect to pay same price as a room with two proper beds. Staff great. Very clean. If spa could stay open longer that would be great. Say until 10pm

Good clean hotel, next to science centre. Really good.

Lovely bed and really nice style and openness of hotel. Liked the little gym and food was good. Mg room had an accessible bathroom, which I found a bit awkward as meant I couldn’t stand comfortably in the shower with the shower chair in place, I wondered I could have had a room without the shower chair, but not enough to trouble staff to ask for another room.

Lovely hotel, modern and bright. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Close to a bus route to Winchester.

Excellent - upgraded to Exceutive room and loads of space

The Holiday inn Winchester is a very nice hotel. There is currently some renovation and rebranding happening as it transitions to a VOCO Hotel but there was no inconvenience at all. Unlike other hotels near the Winchester town center there are not many options for food or shops within walking distance so keep that in mind.

Super hotel. Always good for being closed to Southampton.

Chap on the front desk was the most polite person I’ve ever met in my life. Very smiley too.

They were renovating still and the water temperatures were scalding in the early morning, but everything else was fine.

Good clean hotel. Nice twin room, had everything we needed. Good food menu for evening meal and breakfast was a buffet, the choice was excellent. Would def stay again.

Nice friendly welcome, room was nice and clean, there was a function in the hotel that night but we were given a room on the other side of the building, dinner was a bit of a mess, asked for the vegan burger but with an actual burger, as I have a dairy allergy, was brought out a vegan burger on a brioche roll, they contain butter. 20 minutes or so later it was fixed, might have been an accent thing. Still feel it should have been questioned but the kitchen. The bathroom in our room could really do with a grab rail on the outside of the bath/shower, even for us it was a bit of a struggle.

Building work ongoing but did not affect stay. Convenient for Park and Ride and local buses.
