Mercure London Hyde Park Hotel

Mecure Hyde Park Hotel was in a Great Location. Room was small but perfect for a two night stay, clean and efficient housekeeping. Staff were friendly and very helpful, as we forgot our phone charger and they sorted a charger for us straight away. We had breakfast included which was at the Bella Italia in the hotel it was delicious and we had a good choice. We will definitely be back.

The location is fantastic. Just a few minutes walk to Paddington Station. It is a beautiful building in the room was clean and comfortable. It took a while to figure out the heating in the room. The check-in staff were so friendly and helpful but the evening staff were not so much. I usually never get the breakfast included, but did this time and was extremely surprised and impressed with the selection and quality of the food.

Biblically overpriced for a tiny typical London room. Bed was hard, used and tired springs. Pillows similarly poor quality. Property has made no effort to put in ramps for disabled, or parents with push chairs. Navigating inside is like Tetris, again difficult with luggage and family and pushchairs. Decor is alright. Staff were super helpful when we asked for a cot, which we had requested in advance. “Free” snacks and soft drinks for the exorbitant and usurous room rate was nice though. There are much better hotels and not so small in London. Food options in Paddington are appalling. Tourist land but tourists deserve frankly better.. London and the UK is not what it was..

Good hotel - clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and good facilities. Amazing spot to get when you’re stuck at Paddington because of the floods! Highly recommended.

Space was cramped. Little room to lay out suitcases. Conveniently located a couple of blocks from Paddington Station.

So close to Paddington station, super convenient. Staff were lovely and very accommodating, looking after luggage, etc..

The property is clean and in a good, walkable neighborhood for many things. The staff is professional and helpful. The rooms are very small but clean. Also, they say they have king-sized beds, but they are the size of a standard Queen. In the US and other Places in Europe, a King is a King, however, at the Mercure Hyde Park, a King is a Queen, and to actually get a King, you have to upgrade, and it's not one bed. Its two twin beds are pushed together, trying desperately to make a proper king. I was told by the staff this is the way it is in Europe, however, I'd just come from Iceland, and clearly, they understand a king bed is a king bed. Again, it appears that Mercure has its own standard, and that is not effectively relayed on their website when booking; therefore, I feel it's misleading. The trash along the sidewalks for days is also a bit gross. The breakfast was decent and easy each day.

A spotless, beautiful, quiet, modern bedroom. The beds were also very comfy. Great location. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Tight space but had a lot of clever ideas to put our stuff in the small room. Easy access from Paddington station. A lot restaurant option nearby. No laundry facility just laundry service.

Unfortunately, due to a medical issue with my wife, we were forced to leave a day early. We coordinated with the Mecure staff and with our booking company, Hotels.com, for this early departure the day prior as it became apparent my wife would need medical attention. At the time we were given approval by your manager and Hotels.com and told when we checked out, that a refund for the unused day would be credited back to my credit card account.

This hotel stores bag prior to check in!! Great location! Lots around. I didn’t get the name of the lady who checked me in but she was very helpful! However the actual room was quite noisy (could hear other rooms and people walking past) and there was a smell coming from the bathroom.

I woke up in the early hours only to discover a massive bug (or more - as it was coming and going from underneath the bed) going around the room, and eventually disappearing underneath the carpet. The picture doesn't do the size justice, as it's taken from standing on the bed. I packed my belongings and went to reception, asking for a new place where I could finish getting ready for work. They first suggested using the gym showers... After I pushed for a room, they suggested I used someone else's who had just checked out but the room hadn't been cleaned yet! After I pushed back again did they give me a new, unused room.... I requested to be put in touch with the manager who is still (one month later) unresponsive via email about reimbursement. Overall horrific experience, extremely poor customer service and more importantly, extremely poor hotel conditions. The hotel is just not clean enough for the price and number of stars it has - you can see the carpet is old and dusty, surfaces look dusty etc. And in my 20 years of living in London have never, ever seen bugs. It's just unacceptable.

Honestly, the rooms were great and clean. But what really stood out for us was the front of house staff! We arrived late on a sunday with our 2 yo and the staff were so welcoming and helpful beyond their usual duty. They helped me find milk at like 1030 pm for our kid which was amazing! Rooms are great but the staff are exceptional!
