Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry

I booked a stay at the Royal Court Hotel for my birthday: Thursday 12th - Sunday 15th of December. I wanted a quiet and restful stay. The welcome mat was dirty, the bath had a rusty ring in lieu of a chain. The fittings looked old. On the Friday night my evening was disturbed by children running down the corridors, other guests talking loudly or slamming doors. I got a few hours of sleep. On Saturday night there was a continual stream of noise: slamming doors, arguments, gatherings that sounded like they were outside my room. This went on from around 11pm until around 5am on the Sunday morning. I don't know what caused it, as I was only able to hear snippets of conversations, so I am not holding the other party entirely responsible as they may have been responding to an emergency. I do feel that the hotel could do more to resolve whatever was happening. I was left sleepless and irritated. I was able to get one hour of sleep before I had to make preparations to check out. I was very tired so chose not to raise the issue at checkout; I did however contact the group via their support page a few days after but, a month later, have received no reply. At the end of my stay I felt more tired and frustrated than before my weekend began. I appreciate the hotels are open to other guests but feel that the disturbance was excessive, and that noise propagation throughout the rooms is poor. I don't feel I received value for money, and don't feel I could in any way recommend a stay.

The room and toilets has cobwebs the road leading to the hotel had a large and feet deep pothole which is totally unsafe the light at the outside of the property to light up the nameboard dazzles drivers heading out after dark Heating was not sufficient.

Rooms were very cold, poorly furnished.

I paid for a double room and got two single mattresses put together, room was very dusty, no soap to have a shower, shower would not stay on so when we pulled the leaver up for the shower it kept flling down and changing to the tap, felt like no pricacy in bathroom due to the window, had a very bad smell of sewage, carpet was filthy so made our feet dirty, windows were so high up that i felt panicked as could not see out. Had to leave the hotel a few hours later

Generally speaking it was okay

The staff was great but there was black mold in the bathroom. It was so cold in the room that they had to give us a heater which was not very affective, when we was in the room we had to stay under the bed clothes it was that cold.

Convenient & competitively priced.

Property was old and tired one of the worst hotels I have stayed at and not clean atall

Room was clean problem was.window would not close completely amd was -2 out side so room would not heat up spent all night freezing

the rooms said a double when arrived it was 2 single beds put together with a king sheet and quilt on. Radiator only working at bottom, wiifi would not connect. Asked for extra pillows and came but really solid think ones slept with small sushi ones off the bed. Worst place i have ever stayed. Haven’t slept it’s so uncomfortable and cold.

Room was old needs updated and new beds plus no plug socket with no usb port

The room was good and the bed comfy but a bit noisy late at night with other guests talking and singing outside the room. Was very disappointed that our room was not cleaned and had to ask reception for clean towels the staff not impressed to be asked and very unfriendly. Apparently rooms are only cleaned every three or four days which I have never had before

Stayed here a few times. It's an affordable, dog-friendly hotel in a fairly quiet area. Bed was comfy, room was clean. Staff are helpful, and the lift was working this time. The only minor annoyances about the room were that it was a tiny bit cold even with the lukewarm radiator fully on; and one of the old spotlight bulbs wasn't working so it was a bit dark (seems like a no-brainer to put LEDs in, unless people nick them or something). I do prefer the rooms in the newer wing, to the left as you go in. That's where I was this time. There's not a great lot to do in the surrounding area, but a nice big park opposite for a morning dog walk.

The hotel was clean but rooms are dated bathroom floor all lopsided in room 463 please be careful my partner fell as she got out shower and double room with two single beds pushed together and ended up between two mattresses in the night so really not worth the money we paid or what we where ment to recieved

Place was great in a good area of town. Waitress at dinner was excellent service

Excellent first night. Here for 2 nights. Clean and quit. Foodis great and pool is relaxing. Spa not working. Should have been told before paying

I wouldn’t recommend staying at this property. First of all the rooms are extremely lacklustre. The walls are paper thin and the room freezing cold. There was a Christmas event on at the hotel which I wasn’t informed of. Therefore up until 4am I had to deal with constant screaming and slamming of doors. Despite several attempts from several rooms for these party goers to keep the noise down. I even tried ringing the reception with no answer from both hotel phone and my own mobile.

This hotel is not the Hilton, but it is not the Hilton price either. For the price of this hotel, it is clean, welcoming and you get a decent room with staff that are willing to help if yon need. Very good hotel, we stayed for 4 weeks with work and would happily stay again as my 1st choice.
