Didn't get a lot of sleep. There were what assume were staff members moving trolleys outside the which could be heard through the windows at around 11ish. The curtains are about 2 inches in front of the windows in the room I was in so I naturally woke at about 6am and couldn't get back to sleep with how bright it was.
The hotel itself is lovely, the staff were friendly (just not happy about the noise I assume they caused), not ideal after a 5 hour drive.

This was my first stay at the property whilst at a conference in a nearby town. As it is marketed as a more of a upmarket golf/ wellness hotel (I’m not a golfer so can’t comment on these facilities), I think my expectations were a tad higher. The bathroom in the bedroom I stayed in could do with a deep clean, there was a mold in the corner of shower and limescale in the toilet bowl.
Breakfast was top notch and serving staff excellent. Gym is very well equipped for a hotel and access to the pool facilities was a nice bonus.

Food was amazing, bar and restaurant staff were excellent.
Receptionist needs training on customer service and welcoming guests. No tlc, just told us where are rooms were no information on where the spa was, that we had to book, breakfast times etc. We was the only guests at check in so not excuse she wasn't busy. Spa receptionist was moody, very funny with us for not booking in but we didnt know. Other than that all good 👍

Definitely a place to remember and unwind after a busy time of work, whether that be holding which we hadn’t tried or enjoying a very nice view while having a drink to enjoying a relaxing time in their swimming pool.
The food was spot on, affordable to the time we spend there.
Definitely will return in the near future for another well needed time away from work.

Every thing was great all but not being able to have a swim, we were informed when we inquired about if we could swim ,and that we would have to book a swim and there was no availability for a swim, which was a shame as this was the only reason we booked here in the first place, looked a lovely pool

The single room I was given was not refurbished.
It was dated and shabby looking. The bathroom was not fit for purpose very dated.
This tired room was not worth £230. Very disappointed!!!! Would not stay in an a room not refurbished ever again, this needs to be highlighted when booking.

The hotel was nice but a little tired in places. Elizabeth on reception was absoltuely amazing, really went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and to cater to our requests. Food in the restaurant was good but unfortunately not very hot, we all had to send it back. Staff were very apologetic and sorted it out so all ok in thw end

I have stayed many times over the years. The early days were great as the hotel was a real treat and the chef in the restaurant provided some exceptional dishes. Last time I stayed was about three years ago and all had gone down hill, I thought I would give it one more try and unfortunately I think it will be the last. I think the hotel is looking a bit tired and just little details that are missing for a hotel of this rating and price. I feel that the quality and service has slipped and you can get a lot better elsewhere for the money.

Despite falling ill and needing to go to hospital the hotel were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Food was nice, rooms were nice and the red was 10/10. From the reception staff- the chefs were all so accommodating of my allergies and I felt so comfortable, even though I missed 24hr due to being in hospital.
Even missing breakfast the next morning by 30 minutes , I asked and there was no problems what so ever in getting breakfast ordered and room service for my partner.. that’s amazing..

We had a great stay, staff were really friendly, an amazing breakfast. Didnt get to use spa facilities or restaurant as we were visiting friends. The only slight critism is that the bedding and bathroom was a little bit 'tired'
