Comfortable stay, waited for breakfast at 8am unfortunately chef did not turn up so went to work Hungry.

Comfy bed, great breakfast, reasonably priced

The restaurant/bar was really modern and comfortable. The breakfast was great and plenty of choice. The room was very nice although a little dark but coped. The down side was there was no hot water for a shower either in the morning or evening. The other thing missing was biscuits to go with the drinks and our tea bags was never replenished so went without. We could have gone downstairs and asked them to be replaced but other places we have stayed at they are replenished daily. The positive though is that ‘real’ was offered instead of UHT 👍

Hot day so room was very warm but small fan helped, thank you. Thank you for email with receipt but not sure why you think i owe you for a drink.... it was part of your meal deal offer !

Lovely little property in a quiet village. All to a high standard and quirky. Only small issue was how warm the room was at night as it had been an extremely hot day.

The welcome was good but had to ask for fresh milk and TV issues . and the food quality in the restaurant could be better . Had the duck but it was luke warm and the side was more like a hash brown . Poor dessert

Bar and restaurant along with staff are superb Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room and the “wet room” bathroom left a lot to be desired Previous guests drink stains over the bed side tables and main table along with toothpaste “splash” all down the tiles next to the sink Carpet wasn’t swept before either and the damp smell in the bathroom needs addressing Did advise management on the way out which got a small apology Real shame as was asked if I would recommend for a colleague who is currently staying 2-3 nights a week for work locally elsewhere

Very little storage space in room..no wardrobe..just hooks on wall with no coat hangers. Provision of fan was much appreciated as room was quite hot.

Friendly people. Redtaurant had excellent food. The room was nuce, except for the bathroom. The bathroom was all in one. No separate shower. The whole bathroom got wet when showering. Smelled musty and like mildew.

It was an ok stay…it would have been nice to have had some milk on the tea tray, rather than having to go down for some in the mornings and then bring it back up to the room. It would also be quite helpful to know about the buses and frequency to /from the city from the village. When asked they didn’t know. Also had an incident with an exploding hair dryer and unfortunately another one couldn’t be provided, so it was wet hair for me. However, the bed was very comfortable and the bar area was nice and inviting with its fireplace!

Lovely night at the Carpenters Arms, really incredible food in the restaurant. Great service throughout our stay, comfy rooms and a nice village location. We would recommend.

We had a lovely stay at The Carpenters Arms. The staff were attentive, the food was great and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The decor was bright and fun throughout.

The rooms are very tastefully decorated, clean and secure. The food is superb - I have stayed here a few times and it is always presented beautifully and tastes wonderful . The manager, George, is helpful and attentive.

We had an awesome stay at The Carpenters Arms. The staff were lovely - very welcoming, we had a fantastic lunch and the room was amazing ! A perfect location for Newmarket Races! Thank you so much - we will definitely be back !

I’m almost reluctant to leave a review on how fantastic this place actually was because I feel like I don’t want anyone to know about it! …… it’s a Gem! From the minute we arrived and were greeted with the smile and friendliness of Rhian at the front , we instantly forgot about our poor car journey there ! It was warm, professional and the establishment had a great feel to it! George the General manager was exceptional with his manner and professionalism and nothing was too much trouble ! Rhian is the most aspiring young lady with so many adorable qualities and a passion for what she does! I cannot fault our stay and cannot wait to return !
