The Link Hotel Loughborough

Another lovely stay at The Link Hotel. First time having breakfast here, a great choice and good quality. My only problem was how cold it was in reception, dining area, corridors etc. They seemed to have the AC blowing out freezing cold air and had the radiators on. Apart from that it’s convenient, lots of parking and easily accessible by road.

I was visitng friends so booked this hotel for a reasonable price. It was tired looking but clean, and comfortable. The hotel was so accommodating to me being Vegan and were happy for my friend to join me in the lounge/ communal area for drinks. The saff were 10/10. It was very cold and the heating appeared to be broken but the staff appeared to be working really hard to get round this.

Having walked out of another Loughborough hotel it was a relief to be somewhere clean and with attentive staff. The hotel has the feel of an holiday inn express in terms of room style and perfectly adequate for my short stay.

Good , no frills accommodation, and handy if you’re visiting Loughborough Uni as within walking distance. Rooms were a bit dated but clean with good bed and shower. It’s out of town but free parking is a plus. Excellent value for a short stay. Would stay again.

Just a good option for our needs visiting the Uni a few minutes walk away.

Room were clean and modern. Bathroom has a bath which is a plus for me. The bed was very comfortable and the tea making facilities in the room was very well appreciated.

Obvious damp issue in the room but as I was in a hurry I had to drop my stuff and get out to meet people. I didn’t have time to walk back down to reception to highlight the issue and see if there was another room. When I returned later that evening the damp smell was till prevalent but this was late evening. I settled down for bed and tried to get to sleep which was difficult due to the smell. I found discarded food wrappers below the bedside table which was disappointing. I did mentioned the damp smell at check and I believed it to be the carpet but the receptionist seemed not overly concerned and said she’d pass my comments onto the manager and they would be in touch. I’ve not heard anything since.

Very helpful and friendly staff

This hotel is very convenient for visiting the University. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and well presented. However, it would have benefitted from some modern touches e.g. Bedside USB and power sockets, magnifying mirror in the bathroom. We will definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Bed was comfy and had a good night sleep! Only slight downside was the lack of a USB socket to charge the phone but that’s being picky

The bathroom was not clean, hair and half used shampoo bottle left on the floor…..looked like it had been ‘cleaned’ in a rush. Lighting in the room was dull and the carpet was stained. Staff all seemed to be in a rush and treated us in a very robotic fashion. I would not choose a Link hotel again to be honest

Very convenient for Loughborough University

Amazing service, early check when staying weekend across multiple bookings and changing room really appreciated.

All very good, room spacious and all very easy. Only problem we had was when my son left his room to get something from our car. he was told to ring the bell to gain entrance back. A few minutes later he returned, rang the bell, could see the person on reception but no one came. Apparently, she could not see him or the other guests waiting outside as she was short sighted and could not hear the bell she asked him to ring because the music was too loud!! She then walked off to another part of the hotel, leaving them at the door. He called me out of my bed at 12.15am, to get dressed and go and find her. Good job he had me there, who knows how long they would have waited??

Staff very friendly but corridors and rooms upstairs could do with an upgrade. Carpet badly stained in corridors and extractor fan in bathroom was filthy. Had a poor nights sleep due to the air con switching itself on after midnight, hard to work the controls so room freezing and kept awake by the noise until managed to turn it off. Bit far from main town, definitely not walking distance so lots of Ubers needed, prob wouldn’t stay again

lack of staff - trying to check out and the only person on duty was on an extended phone call. Dinner only available frokm 6-7pm as problems with the chef!
