The Moonraker Hotel

Our first stay, just for one evening due to travel plans. We would definitely return as it was such a charming hotel with excellent restaurant and a lovely setting.

Absolutley beautiful grounds and venue, staff were friendly and room was really nice. The first night was lovely however the 2nd night there was a wedding which we had not been warned about. We struggled to park our car and had to squish it in to a small gap which we were worried we would find damages, the music was 'thud thud thud' from the wedding room even with all the windows closed, children were knocking our door and running off aswell as other children sat outside our room screeching till late. Had we been warned we may have booked somewhere else for some peace as we had booked the weekend away for a peaceful break.

Excellent hotel in good condition. Reception staff was cheerful and efficient. Good room full of interest and charm, it made us smile. Hotel dining room was very nice, the quality of the evening meal was superb and high quality as was the dining room staff. Very happy to stay here again.

It was a quiet get away for myself and my wife. The property was lovely and the bed was comfy. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is a little gem. Our room was beautiful and very spacious with a sitting area. The food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.

Lovely building (think Far from the Madding Crowd), wonderful dinner, character room, old fashioned but charming with a lovely bathroom. Very nice staff

Have been a guest at a wedding and last stayed here 5 years ago. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. But sadly the main interior and bedrooms haven’t changed, look a little worse for wear and could do with being completely refurbished. Food was ok, but menu not particularly exciting. A shame as a lovely building and location deserves better.

Quaint old building. Friendly staff. Price good. Room good size. Weak ventilation so a bit warm on a warm day.

Room is clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and pleasant food good value and good overall experience. Still left with sense of grievance. I booked and was charged for a superior room but given a standard room. Same room as advertised as standard room on photo. (I complained and was refunded the difference but only AFTER I showed photos to manager). Also rooms are motel style range rooms NOT in Manor House which is impression given on booking site. Also confusion over meal discounts. Generally gives impression that it is over selling and under delivering which is a pity because if it told the truth it is good value for money. Problem lies with advertising not product.

Moonraker is a pleasant hotel in a quiet location. The rooms are a good size and reasonably priced. However the breakfast is very expensive.

Love the place staff are nice you can relax here the meals are nice the pork is amazing
